This exciting new scholarship is aimed at fostering opportunities for women in the fields of economics and business. Despite significant progress in educational and professional realms, women remain underrepresented in key leadership positions within the corporate world. Data from S&P 500 companies show that women hold only a small percentage of committee chairs, director seats, and CEO positions. In response to these trends, the Woltemade Center's Scholarship for Women in Economics and Business seeks to empower and support women pursuing careers in economics and business by providing them with financial assistance. This initiative not only invests in the future success of women in these fields but also contributes to creating a more diverse and dynamic business environment overall.

"My name is Frankie Nuss and I am from Gahanna, Ohio. I graduated as a Valedictorian, Hall of Fame Finalist, and 4-year varsity tennis player at Lincoln High School. I was involved in several clubs and honor societies, but I especially enjoyed being president of my school’s HOSA Future Health Professionals chapter. Through HOSA, I competed at the international competition twice, placing 9th in the world in a presentation event most recently. I was also involved in a 2-year career technical program called Bioscience. I performed many advanced microbiology labs and completed my own research capstone project. Through presenting my research, I discovered my enjoyment of and talent for communicating and applying scientific concepts in regard to modern issues. In the future, I aspire to work in the nexus of business/industry and science. I am thrilled to continue my tennis career at OWU while being an EMF member and studying STEM paired with business."

I am continuing to play lacrosse at Ohio Wesleyan. During high school I worked as an intern for the county park authority. While there I had the opportunity to gain insight on the inner workings of the facilities as well as obtaining some understanding of its operations from a business standpoint of local government administration. I am leaning towards majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Finance. I have always been interested in the business world and thought the EMF program was a perfect opportunity to explore that. Can’t wait to be a part of the program and the OWU community."

My name is Brianna Montgomery, and I am from a small town in Gibsonburg, Ohio. While attending Gibsonburg High School, I was a four-year varsity runner in cross country and track and field. I also had the amazing opportunity to compete in Gibsonburg’s first girl's wrestling team. I will continue my running career at Ohio Wesleyan. Within my four years of high school, I was involved in Key Club, the National Honors Society, the Principal’s Advisory Board, Student Council, and Youth Fellowship. I am intrigued by the creative and community aspect of these boards. I built a dog-sitting business that gives me the flexibility to balance school and sports while earning an income.
