Did you know:
If you have a pacemaker, you can put it in your Will to have your pacemaker donated to a dog in need after you pass. Pacemakers cannot be donated to another human, but they can be donated to dogs with cardiac issues who would depend on it to stay alive.
You can have the pacemaker brought to a vet of your choice. So many of those get thrown away and dogs die because people don't know they can do this. It even saves the dog's owner the cost of the actual pacemaker which sometimes means the difference in being able to afford lifesaving treatment or not.

One of my wonderful clients just passed away last month, & her daughter called us for some help. Apparently there was no will in place… HAVING A WILL IS INSANELY IMPORTANT, but I guess my client had always found it was cost prohibitive. SO in her honor, we will draft a simple will AND a durable power of attorney for any client- old or new- for $750 flat (so long as the value of the estate is less than or equal to $750,000). Breeding: everyone has an opinion. The left side of the bell curve screams “adopt! Don’t shop” while the right side of the curve sees breeding as a way to obtain particular personality attributes which best suit their family. While I admit I tend to swing a bit to the left, there’s a time and place for everything. As a new mom, I totally get the desire to have a puppy that has some more predictable traits. Regardless of where you stand, it’s important to research ANY breed you intend to introduce into your home and family. My home happens to be a mix of staffordshire terrier, American pitbull and cavapoo (yes! It works!) All of these breeds are loyal, calm, and great with kids.
