The NVD Music Department, led by Mrs. Wheeler and Mr. Meszaros, traveled to Philadelphia to participate in a Heritage Festival. Part of the busy schedule included students taking a historic walking tour of Old Town Philadelphia and visiting The Franklin Institute. At the festival, the students performed at the historic Franklin Learning Center in downtown Philadelphia for adjudicators from across the country. Each performing ensemble worked with one of the adjudicators in a brief clinic after their performance, receiving valuable feedback and insights. We're very proud of the student accomplishments that were recognized at an awards banquet at the conclusion of the festival, and listed below.

14 NVD juniors were inducted into the Japanese National Honor Society. Carson J. Sam L. and Roy S. were awarded special commendation. The event culminated in tea ceremony master Keiko Kitazawa conducting the 15th century ritual of making and serving matcha tea with a whisk.

Congrats to the three NVD students who were accepted into next year's NJ All-State Chorus. Pictured, from left to right, are: Suhani Advani, Mickenna Biggins, and Hannah Cohen along with the NVD choir director, Mr. Meszaros.

Francesca Costa from the Palisades Interstate Historical Society came to Ms. Glick's US I Honors class to talk to students about local history during the Civil War.
