More progress on this one.
I’m coming for you .
New cloudscape taking shape.
This is me today. Thank you Nova for the beautiful Mother’s Day gift of a cold. Sadly I won’t be making the trek up to Boulder tonight for , but I hope you will!
This original painting Night Dance is going up for auction this Friday at ARTMIX, BMoCA’s annual fundraising event. I’m excited to attend. Tickets are still available if you’d like to join me!
I kind of love these little landscapes I’ve been doing on the side, so I’ve posted a few on my web shop. Link in bio.
Success!
Hosting a Sip & Paint tonight for six as part of the annual fundraiser at Nova’s school. Wish us luck!
In the midst of a million other projects I am fitting in some wee ones. 10x10 up to 18x12 and made from my steel end cuts and leftover palette mixes.
Not a bad way to start the day.
What a treat to visit in her beautiful studio. It had been a while since I’d seen her nest paintings up close and I so enjoy how soft and gestural she paints them. We had just enough time to sip some tea and catch up on all things art and art business in our lives. It’s so important to connect with other artists especially when you work in a solo studio environment.
Just getting back in the studio after three solid weeks helping out with the Great Create community art project/fundraiser at Nova’s school. What an incredible experience working with these young artists! I am uplifted and inspired.
This install happened almost a year ago, but it will forever be one of my favorites. A wonderful family and a home filled with collected memories, youthful energy and lots of laughter. Bear couldn’t be more content in his new digs.
Sharing one of my favorites from the portal series because the palette and mood seems appropriate today. It reminds me of falling in love…when everything is light and cottony and fluid.
Thinking a lot about recurring themes in my work, the ones you don’t really think about. For example my love of diptychs and pairings. In my mind these two new portal paintings belong together, just like these other works from 2014 and way back to 2004 belong together.
And apparently I also like blue!
Sometimes you have to move to another room to stand back from your work.
Ok folks, I’ve got a few more framed prints up on my Etsy site. Get ‘em while they’re hot!

Interrupting all programming for a cute cat alert. Cupcake nestled atop the Bean’s pink and red tutu skirt.
It felt so good to get out on the trail this morning. A balmy 32 degrees and amazing company was just what we all needed after that cold spell. I really do ❤️ you Colorado.
Mr. Black Bear is looking (and feeling) rather dapper this evening. Sundance Film Festival opens this weekend in Park City and he’s got front row seats at Trove Gallery on Main Street. If you’re in town for the event, be sure to stop by.
This is Indy, my studio companion. She is tired and wants to snooze right where I am trying to work. I love her even though I’ve almost broken my neck twice today.
After the Storm. Oil on stainless steel, 36in x 36in, 2023.
There’s nothing like the sky following a big storm. After a white knuckle drive through the Texas Panhandle, the dark skies gave way and we were serenaded with cotton candy clouds and the most striking blue skies. The ground glowed a golden green.
It’s cold out there folks. A perfect Saturday for snuggling on the couch with the Bean watching movies.
In keeping with the deer theme this week…sometimes bad things happen to good paintings. My favorite little doe has a discoloration in the metal above her head. It’s very subtle and not visible in most light, but still, it’s there. I’ve sat with her for almost a year wondering what to do. She needs a home. Offering her at a deep discount. Message me if you are interested.
I’m trying out some ready-made frames for the new prints. If anyone in the Denver area is in need of a framed print for holiday gifting, hit me up!
I have one of each in light white oak, dark walnut, white or black finish. Happy to swap out the prints on a first come, first served basis. $100 unframed, $150 framed.
Super excited to finally have all three limited edition prints in the studio and ready to ship. Follow the link to my new Etsy shop for more details and to purchase.
