Today is International Day of Charity... each year on September 5th, we commemorate the death of Mother Teresa, a significant humanitarian worker who received numerous awards for her charitable work and was even declared blessed. Charity takes many forms and always aims to help others, whether it is through monetary or material donations or through volunteer work.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month – a time to remember the lives lost to su***de, acknowledge the millions more who have experienced suicidal thoughts, and the many individuals, families and communities that have been impacted by su***de. National Black Business Month is celebrated annually in August to recognize and support Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. The month also highlights the contributions of Black-owned businesses to our economy and in promoting diversity and equity. One in 10 adults in the U.S. have a panic attack each year and they usually begin between the ages of 15 and 25. This week marks the 2024 Panic Attack Awareness Day and at Maria Droste, we believe in normalizing talking about panic disorders.

Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Mental Health Awareness Month is celebrated in July to raise awareness of the unique mental health challenges faced by historically oppressed and disenfranchised racial and ethnic groups in the United States. At Maria Droste, we strive to normalize talking about mental health in BIPOC communities.
