Come show your support for the Keep Transit Moving campaign that is working to pass a ballot measure this November to support transit and ensure RTD can keep the money they raise. We're doing a campaign launch at 11am on Friday, September 6 at the Federal and Decatur light-rail station.
More info can be found here: https://www.keepcoloradomoving.com
The measure will not raise taxes. The measure will allow RTD to continue to provide transportation choices, maintain current levels of bus and rail services, repair and improve rail lines, buses, bus stops, stations, and other infrastructure, maintain the availability of services for people with disabilities, provide transportation services for youth 19 years of age or younger at reduced or no fares, fund security and safety measures on RTD rail lines, and more.

CCDC is endorsing the RTD Ballot Initiative!
As you know, RTD is THE public transit option for people in the metro area. Public transit is an important public utility. For some of us it is the only way to get around, but a good system becomes how people move around for everyone, including those who are able to drive and can afford a vehicle. Transit is much more friendly to our planet and brings communities together.

Navajo Code Talkers Day – August 14th
Navajo Code Talkers Day is celebrated every year on August 14th.
History: The day recognizes the contributions of Navajo Marines during World War II, who effortlessly encoded and flawlessly transmitted encoded and transmitted messages using a complex Navajo language-based code,
Establishment: Navajo Code Talkers Day was established through a presidential proclamation by President Ronald Regan in 1982.
Importance: The day promotes Navajo heritage, recognizes the efforts of the marines and keeps history alive.
The Diné Bizaad (Navajo Language) was used in WWII and was the code that could NEVER be broken. It was instrumental in helping the United States defeat Japan and win the war in the Pacific.
The language was forbidden to speak as many of them were taken away and put into boarding schools. Many of them were forced to abandon their culture and their language and forced to speak only English.
During WWII, they helped deliver and receive- FLAWLESSLY- over 800 messages during battle.

Happy Americans with Disabilities Act and Colorado Cross Disability's founding anniversary! Thank you to everyone who joined us last night at the ADA Awards. It was amazing to catch up with old friends and to meet new friends. As we're celebrating today, we wanted to share some words of reflection and an exciting announcement from one of our Co Executive Directors, Julie Reiskin.
Happy Birthday ADA and CCDC and Hillary Dear Community: Thirty four years ago today President George H.W. Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities and declared it was time for the shameful walls of exclusion to come tumbling down. In Colorado, a group had been working for several years to birth the organization that is the Col...
