We have been busy this month, but this one was so much fun to help plan out. Paul reached out to me a few months back, wanting to surprise his girlfriend with a proposal right after Christmas. I have been so excited for this day! We couldn't have them go somewhere that would give it away, so I planned an area they would casually be at, and I think he definitely surprised her! His attempt to have her throw out her coffee cup before he asked her had failed, but that's how you know she was completely caught off guard. This was Taylor's first time in Chicago, and I have a feeling it will be one of her favorite trips. We ended up walking around and getting some fun shots for them. Congrats to Paul and Taylor! Thanks for letting me be a part of your wonderful day!

That's a wrap on Santa photos this year. I think these are the best ones yet! These are my favorite sessions that I do each year. I think just seeing the children so excited and happy to see Santa melts my heart. And there were definitely some funny stories told to Santa this year. So glad I got to do this session. We ended up breaking it up into 2 sessions b/c the weather was not cooperating on our original date. It has been the rainiest September/October, and rescheduling has happened to more than a few of my clients this month. We finished with perfect weather and a perfect session. Just wanted to give an update for the Santa Mini Sessions! There were security updates running on the system we use for our gallery. These updates were to combat some vulnerabilities that were exposed affecting many services around the world. During that time, I was not able to upload anything or have anyone view anything. Cake smash success!

We are hoping everyone is staying safe today in the snow tundra we just received! At least the sun is shining!

We know that 2020 wasn't exactly how everyone wanted to spend their year. However, I feel like you can find some good in almost every not so great situation. For me, it got me to rethink how I wanted to move into the new year with my business for one. I put in place some processes to help keep track of things better, give my clients a better experience, as well as launching a new website! (More to come on that soon!) Secondly, I was able to spend some time with my kids. I'm always running them around to places, that I don't always get the quality time I want with them. And lastly, I realized I need to slow down and spend a little more time on me. Things that I have been putting off for myself seem to always be placed on the back burner because the family comes first. I have learned it's ok to think about yourself sometime and get what you need to get done, or in my case, refuel. So here's to 2021. I hope it shines a little brighter for everyone. #2021
