Our 1st DGJWC Presidents Brunch was a HUGE success! It was wonderful bringing these amazing former and future leaders together to collaborate, share stories and brainstorm ideas to best serve our community. Learning from the past helps build a better future. We hope to continue this tradition for many years to come! ❤️

We love supporting the Lombard Junior Women's Club and TLC Camp! This morning DGJWC volunteers helped serve breakfast to campers before a fun-filled day! TLC Camp is the only camp in Illinois that allows a child with cancer to bring a sibling along for the week-long experience. Thank you to LJWC for providing this very special opportunity for families since 1983! 💜💜

DGJWC is proud to help support the mission of Hope's Front Door with this philanthropy check and one of our most favorite volunteer opportunities of each Club year, packing backpacks with school supplies to ensure a succcessful school year for local kids! We are so proud of the work being done in our community through this beautiful organization. Read their mission below!
“At Hope’s Front Door, we provide a variety of programs and resources to help improve the quality of life to neighbors facing financial and health crises. Our caring and compassionate staff meets with each client, offering guidance to meet their individual needs. We recognize the intrinsic dignity of all who walk through our doors. Our services acknowledge the need for immediate and emergency outreach and our programs offer life-skill education that results in long-lasting, sustainable change.”

The Glen House Food Pantry serves low-income neighbors who live, work or go to school in DuPage County. Just in 2023 alone, they distributed more than one million pounds of food to over 7,000 unique individuals. This $2,000 donation will enable them to purchase more food for the summer to serve children who do not have access to free and reduced meals during the school year.❤️

What a great way to start the day! ❤️ We loved supporting our 2024 Charity Partner Young Hearts for Life at their 5K walk/run. Thanks to all the Juniors who walked and ran for a wonderful cause!

Community Kitchen is located right in Downtown Downers Grove and serves our neighbors in need facing housing and/or food insecurity. They started by providing dinner every Monday night and every other Friday. However, they have shifted to nearly 5 days/week due to high need feeding nearly for 25-30 people each meal. This DGJWC Donation will be stretched as much as possible to serve as many nutritious meals to our neighbors. Please consider supporting Community Kitchen located at the First Congregational United Church of Christ. ❤️

Today we had the honor of presenting a $2000 donation to Hair & Hope. An incredible nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and funding to provide cold caps to cancer patients to help reduce hair loss during their treatment. Cold caps can cost $2000-$2500 for a full course of chemo treatment and are not covered by most insurance plans. The mission of Hair & Hope is to not only meet the tangible financial need of providing cold caps to cancer patients going through chemotherapy but also to provide a source of encouragement, support and mentorship to the patients we are walking alongside as they begin their treatment journey. 💜

On April 24, 1890, the GFWC constitution was ratified and 63 clubs officially formed the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. With nearly 3,000 clubs and 100,000 members worldwide, we surely have come a long way since that day 134 years ago. Every year, Federation Day gives us the opportunity to reflect on where we have been as an organization, and look forward to what we will accomplish in the future.
