Hollywood Blvd. Had 2 theaters reserved for the Guides and Princesses as well as some special room for Santa! Gear up for the coming Winter Campouts, Roller Skating and Snoozeum just around the corner. It is not too late to join or learn more about the program at Yomechas.org!
We had two wonderful Holiday Parade Events this Season one in Westmont and our first in Naperville. The Yomechas marched with pride and smiles as parents and children enjoyed these wonderful opportunities to spend time together making memories. Just look at those faces!
The Holiday Season continues for the Yomechas Guides & Princesses Program with a Celebration and Movie at Hollywood Blvd Cinema in Woodridge this Saturday. This year we are showing Illumination's "The Grinch" on the big screen and kids will also have the opportunity to meet and visit with Santa! Seats are still available for this unique event which is now open to friends and family (bring your neighbors and best friends too). The signup is open until this Thursday at Yomechas.org for this free event. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and we should be done by noon. Come and see why Yomechas Guides and Princesses is the hottest ticket in town this Holiday Season!
The pins never stood a chance this year at the Yomechas Guides and Princesses Annual Bowling event! Like all the other Federation events, attendance for parents and children is FREE to all members. Both sessions were completely full at the wonderful Suburbanite Bowling Alley in Westmont, who did another great job with the event. Sad to say, many of the kids beat the parents this year, so Dads may need to practice over the next 12 months so they are ready for the rematch.
Still time to join before Holiday parade and movie events in December. In addition, there is the Winter Campout, Canoe on Wheels, Museum Sleepover, Roller Skating and Spring Campouts just around the corner. Join today at Yomechas.org!
The Holiday Season got off to a great start for the Yomechas Federation with the Annual Pumpkin Hunt at Ty Warner Park! There was free pumpkins for the kids, bounce houses, a DJ, face painting, food, a coloring contest and of course-The Hunt for the Pumpkins/Prizes. Special thanks to all the dads who organized and managed the event, as well as to Jewel Osco for providing snacks!
This is one of the biggest events of the year for the Yomechas Guides and Princesses program, and more importantly, it is a great way to spend some time and create some lasting memories between parents and children. Many of our members joined because of all the fun they had in the program with their dads when they were young.
Check out all the fun in the photos and go to Yomechas.org to learn more about how to join in on the action! We have more exciting events coming up including bowling, paintball, parades and the holiday party, as well as Winter Campouts and the Snoozeum museum sleepover. Still plenty of time to join and be part of these great events!!

With the tempature outside breaking 95°, today was a perfect day for ice skating with Yomechas! Looking forward to another great year.
We had a GREAT turnout for the 4th of July Parade this year despite the somber tone for the day. Special thanks to all the volunteers for working hard to make the day a safe success in Downers Grove. There were hundreds of feathers and endless handfuls of candy handed out by parents and their children creating positive lasting memories together. Thanks to all the Yomechas Guides and Princesses participants, all the parade-watchers and the police for helping to keep us safe and manage the celebration under difficult conditions. Don't forget to check out the Yomechas Fishing Derby coming up on August 27th at Barth Pond. Come and learn about this wonderful Parent/Child program while eating hot dogs and talking about the one that got away!
Yomechas Guides & Princesses are EVERYWHERE!!! Many thanks to all the visitors at the Woodridge Jubilee and Grovefest in Downers Grove over the last few weekends. We had a great turnout and signed up many new members. Special thanks to all the parent/child volunteers spending time together to help grow the program while having fun!
Come check out all the buzz at the Annual Fishing Derby Open House at Barth Pond August 27th. Details to follow!
Get the water bottles chilled, sunscreen ready and wagon wheels rolling...The Yomechas 4th of July Parade Event is going to be sunny, warm and loads of fun! Join us to march with your friends while handing out headbands and candy to celebrate Independence Day!
For those participants being dropped off, please do so at Highland and Grant. This intersection will be barricaded to only allow cars to go northbound. Kids need to have an adult with them, so this is really for those who are being dropped by family members. The parade starts at Main St. between Grant and Sherman and lineup begins at 11:45 AM at Downers North High School parking lot. Parade begins at 1pm, but we can assemble headbands while we wait.
Since this is the only parade Yomechas are marching in this 4th, lets get a big turn out. See you there!!
Yomechas Princesses celebrated the Spring Outing at beautiful Camp Eberhart in Michigan this year! A little rain couldn't dampen the fun. Now is the time to join up for the 2022-2023 Program Year. Bring a friend to share the adventures and memories in this great Parent/Child Program that has been running sinc1926!
Springtime means Yomechas Kite Fly and Canoe on Wheels!! (and Spring Campouts!) We had lots of fun at both events this year-and a special thanks goes out to all the organizers and volunteers for these events. The program relies on members and volunteers to keep things moving now and in the future. Help make sure this great parent/Child Program continues and ask your Tribal Chief how you can help in the next event!
The Yomechas Guides and Princesses celebrated with style at Camp Duncan for the Annual Winter Campout! With a little effort there was a sledding run and some great Winter Olympic sports! There were awards to all the winners and an opportunity to warm up with hot cocoa by the fire before winding down in the cabins. Most importantly, the dads got to create lasting memories of a winter outing with their kids. Still time to join the Yomechas and join all the fun!!

Happy New Years to all Yomechas Federation members and families! I wanted to share pictures from our 2021 Holiday Party and Food Drive held at the Tivoli Theater. We had a huge turnout including members, their families, an elf and even Santa made time to hand out candy canes and enjoy the movie. In addition, our members filled an extra sleigh with food donations for the Fish Pantry with help from a few more elves. Thank you to all the people who volunteered and made time on a Sunday morning to have some Yomechas style fun. Can't wait to create more parent child memories while sharing adventures in 2022!!
There are times when being a part of the Yomechas Program makes you really feel like you are a part of something beyond special-this is one of those times. Through the Adopt-a-Family holiday gift drive our members were able to help 570 families with holiday gifts including clothes, toys, shoes/boots, coats and educational gifts. These are families who may have had nothing for their children this year if not for the incredible generosity of our members. Your efforts show the true spirit of the holidays, of giving and the importance of helping others. I am proud to share the results of your generosity.
Thank you from Adopt-a-Family and the Yomechas Federation!!
