Meet our sweet boy Jeffy who is looking for a medical foster / foster to adopt home.
Our 10 yr old little guy has a few requirements:
- His new person must be good with medicating cats, especially ones who are a little stubborn in accepting meds 😆
- Willing to stick to his vet-prescribed diet and not waver while we work to get his diagnosis fine tuned
- Someone who's wanting to foster to adopt and would want to walk Jeffy through finding a true diagnosis
- Work from home at least partially as Jeffy wants to hang out and snuggle a lot.
- He's a lover with people, will lay on your legs/feet/side, purrs so loud, loves catnip, can get a little overstimulated with play, is an absolute sweetheart.
- He is NOT a fan of other animals.

Just a few more days until our kitties return to PetSmart!
After the store reflooring project was completed, we returned to our space to find a heavy layer of dust on everything in our cat room as well as debris.
Thank you to everyone who came out to help clean up. All cages and litter boxes were hand washed and wiped down, as well as all windows/surfaces, signs, toys, supplies a more.
Clean-up continues this week with painting walls, new storage and more. NEW cats will be joining us this Labor Day Weekend! More updates coming soon.

Sisters Rosie and Daisy are your purrrfect pair! Social, easy and fun describe these girls. Rosie loves chin scratches and has extra toes!! Both are fearless, curious, chatty, and love CHURU treats of course! They demand plenty of pets and will probably be really good snuggle buddies on the couch. They also love bird wand toys! The only thing they aren't a fan of so far - Dogs.
They will easily adapt to their forever home and family - what are you waiting for??

These two kitties need your support. Vet bills for Thor and Marvin are adding up. To continue to provide our cats with the best care, we rely on donations from the community, and our funds are running low. Here are two more of our kitties need a little extra help.
1. THOR --> Nearly $5000 in vet expenses.
– Unfortunately most cats come to us with little to no info on their history. Sweet boy Thor was adopted and started suffering from seizures right away. We have been supporting his new family with medication and helping to get his seizures under control.
2. MARVIN --> About $600 in vet expenses plus more to come.
- His bloodwork and urinalysis came back great but unfortunately he still needs some serious dental work (possibly to the tune of up to $1200) . We also discovered this handsome boy had a grade four heart murmur but everything is ok. He is looking for a patient and peaceful home.

Meet Marvin! Available for adoption
Male; Age: 11 years old; Special Needs
On International Black Cat Day, meet our very own house panther Marvin! Marvin was born outside to a barn cat but brought in as a tiny baby to be a spoiled house panther. However, it was determined that he did not do well with small children as they came into the picture over time. Marvin is gentle, shy, and loves a good Churu snack! He is shy at first and it will take a patient, persistent home to help him feel his best and know he is safe and loved the rest of his days. Marvin does seem to trust masculine people more quickly but does adjust overtime.
**Marvin has a grade 4 heart murmur but bloodwork looks great!

MEET BELLY DANCE Available now for Adoption!
Female; Age: 5 1/2 years; DSH Tuxedo
Belly Dance came to us from DCAS and was given up by her former owners with no info. She is a sweet, demure, gentle girl who just wants a calm home where she can focus on getting to her healthiest weight and being loved! She loves head scratches and food. She loves company of her people but prefers a chill environment without a lot of activity. She enjoys looking out the window and watching the birds and wildlife. She will do best in a calm, quiet home, with someone who is a homebody just like her! Belly is also on a weight loss plan to help her live her best, longest life.

Calling all animal lovers – we need your help. To continue to provide our cats with the best care, we rely on donations, and our funds are running a little low. In a perfect world, every cat would receive a clean bill of health of from our vet but that’s not always the case. Some of our kitties need a little extra help and as any pet owner knows, bills add up. Here are two examples
1. LUCAS – This boy came to us and was adopted by a disabled veteran. They were a great match! Unfortunately, Lucas developed a urinary blockage, and his owner was afraid he'd have to return him. We helped with his vet bills to make sure these bachelors can stay together. He is also currently on prescription food which we provide some assistance on.
2. JEFFY – Our silly orange boy came to us from DCAS. He has some intestinal/liver issue going on that we're working to narrow down. This will require additional testing, medicine and special diet until we can receive a final diagnosis. He is also looking for a foster or foster to adopt home to assist with long-term care.

Where are all the cats??
PetSmart is currently redoing all their floors. While most of the construction occurs at night, all that noise is really stressful for our cats. Who wouldn't be upset if they couldn't get a good nights sleep!
So all of our kitties have been temporarily moved to foster homes. Don't worry, they will be back in a less than two weeks. In the meantime, you can still learn more and YES - adopt cats, even if they are in foster homes.

Meet Artemis!
This hunky, lanky fella was found trying to make it on his own. Artemis is shy, gentle, sweet, and an easygoing bud for other calm cats. He has some confidence to gain, and loves caves and hiding spots, but will come out to play and for affection. He’d do well with another easygoing cat to help him feel comfortable and learn that he does not need to be afraid any more.
Artemis is only one year old, but looks like he’s been eating for a decade! Besides his raccoon tail that’s longer than his body, he’s got the heft and presence of cats twice his age. Artemis doesn’t let it go to his head, though; he’ll lean as far away from scary people as possible before making a quick escape. He’ll do best with a quiet home.

Our last Olympic team member!
Momo – Competing in Field Mice – we mean Field Hockey!
Our special boy Momo, has captured hearts of many despite his challenges. Momo’s biggest challenge - being front declawed, which unfortunately causes him discomfort. It is especially painful when using traditional litter boxes. Although his previous family cherished him and worked with him on his special needs, sadly, severe allergies led the family to make the difficult decision to part ways after many years together.
Momo prefers empty litter boxes or those filled with soft materials, as he associates them with less pain. We are helping him to relearn that using a litter box can be comfortable and safe. We are committed to supporting Momo's foster (or foster-to-adopt) family with both behavioral and medical care to ensure he finds a forever home where he can thrive.
Despite his challenges, Momo's affectionate nature and resilience make him a special companion for someone willing to give him the understanding and care he deserves. If you're looking to make a difference in Momo's life, consider opening your heart and home to this sweet and deserving cat.

Maurice & Marcel – Competing in Beach Volleyball
This bonded pair works together at their game. Marcel sets up the ball and Maurice comes in with the spike!
These brothers share a unique feature – both are bobtails! And while Maurice is the more outgoing of the two, both are sweet and affectionate and love to take naps together. Marcel definitely comes out of his shell once he is used to you.

Next up we have Missy Bella. Competes in Rhythmic Gymnastics.
For her, play time is after breakfast, where she practices her routine with the ribbon / feather wand. She adores morning lap sits and watching cat videos on YouTube. She will then move to a comfy spot for a nap or the window using her soft steps where she judges the world from her perch.
Missy enjoys everything on her terms, so as long as you are ready for Missy Bella to be in charge you will have a great time. While she still can be easily startled and wary when you walk around her, with lots of love and patience she will be your best friend till the end!

Next up we have Cleo. Competes in track & field – 100M Dash.
This stunning girl has a super soft coat. She’s energetic, sweet and a little shy at first.
Cleo is known for her late-night zoomies and her love for playing with toys. With her speed, she’s an excellent hunter.
She does get cuddly moods and likes long pet sessions which include plenty of chin scritches. And don’t forget a good scratch on the lower back, near her tail.
She’s not a fan of loud, sudden noises or movements, or the company of young kids or other cats. BUT does not mind a calm dog that lets her be the boss! She’s ready for her forever home where she can be comfortable and confident, and the true queen of her domain!

First up we have Callie. Competes in gymnastics – beam and floor routine.
This petite girl with a gorgeous tortoiseshell and white coat, will keep her audience entertained! She’s playful and curious, receiving high marks for her leaps and tumbling routines. A definite social butterfly, once she warms up to you, she enjoys the company of people and cats. After playtime, she'll curl up for a cozy nap, purring contentedly.

This past Sunday was ! A sweet family who has adopted from us and has become part of our family held a fundraiser & craft day for our rescue cats!

They are raising chickens, so they did chicken bingo and crafting for the cats, plus a supply and donation drive, raising over $350! 😽 We can't wait to see the awesome toys the kiddos (and adults!) created for our kitties, too. Thank you Gooding family!! 🥰

Adoption Update: Sheldon

This handsome man with a smudge nose came to DuPage County Animal Services after his heartbroken mom developed really severe allergies after her pregnancy. Thankfully, a person with a senior kitty heart made a beeline for Sheldon and now he's living the best retirement life!

He's doing great! He's such a sweet boy. A major love bug. He's very afraid of my guinea pigs. But otherwise he's been an absolute delight.

Foster to Adopt Me: Jeffy

Jeffy was given up when his family had to move due to a medical emergency, and not all of their furry family could come along. Jeffy loves to cuddle and give little love nips to get your attention. He prefers the company of adults or older kiddos, loves the laser pointer, all kinds of toys, and catnip. He enjoys quiet mornings sitting in the window to watch the birds, and needs someone who will help him keep his luxurious fur its most beautiful!

Adopt Me: Samson

Samson came back to us after he was no longer happy in his former home and made it very well known. He’s definitely a cat made for people, not other cats. He’s sweet as can be and unbelievably soft, happy to lie down and receive as much attention as you can give. And when he relaxes on the floor, he almost doubles in width! Samson is a great lap cat for any owner who can keep his luxurious coat under control.
