We had an unforgettable time at the Golden Graduates Weekend, welcoming back nearly 30 alumni from the Class of ‘74 and earlier! 🎓✨
Our journey began with an exploration of The Old Fort, where Beth LaShell shared captivating stories about the history of the area and the College. On our campus tours, we marveled at the incredible innovations and changes happening up at the Mesa since 1974. The Center of Southwest Studies curated a nostalgic collection of memorabilia that took us all down memory lane.
The weekend was highlighted by a heartfelt reception and champagne toast with Interim President Steve Schwartz and Provost Mario Martinez. We capped it off with a breathtaking ride on the Durango to Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, enjoying spectacular views of the surging Animas River, great company, and a lovely picnic lunch in Cascade Canyon.
Thank you to all who attended! It was a joy to reconnect, and we can’t wait to see you at future alumni events. 🌟

Town is still buzzing from the excitement of this year's Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. Iron Horse Bicycle Classic is a quintessential Durango tradition. Each year, thousands of cyclists come from near and far to race the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Steam Engine from Durango to Silverton along the beautiful Million Dollar Highway. The event is jam-packed with familiar FLC faces from race directors, to volunteers, to competitors. The IHBC is a yearly showcase of the talent and richness of Durango’s cycling community and a wonderful opportunity for alumni to return to the San Juan Mountains and partake in one of Fort Lewis College's favorite past times.

Congratulations to this year’s Men’s Pro champion, Cobe Freeburn. Cobe is a second generation Fort Lewis College student, studying computer information systems.

A special thank you to FLC Cycling Team for pulling off their annual alumni ride to Baker’s Bridge, and thank you to all alumni who joined the fun!
