More than 150 parents and community members joined us last night for a COVID-19 Ask the Experts: Vaccinating 5-11-Year-Olds virtual town hall.

Last night's town hall was sponsored by Dr. Mary Braithwaite of Chapel Hill Pediatrics and Adolescents, P.A. along with NC Department of Health and Human Services, Durham Public Schools, Durham County Department of Public Health, African American Covid Task Force+, and Latin -19.

A huge thanks to Dr. Mary Cooley of Chapel Hill Pediatrics, Dr. Ibukun Kalu of Duke, and Dr. Charlene Wong of NCDHHS for serving as panelists.

Today was a great day in the Bull City. Close to 60 vaccinations were administered on our mobile vaccination unit.

From an entire family getting their first doses together to a 62-year-old resident who said the "$100 don't hurt" when asked why he decided to get vaccinated today, this is what doing the work looks like. We even had a few students who weren't old enough to get vaccinated today but can't wait to get their vaccinations someday...hopefully soon.

Glad we could help bring COVID-19 vaccines to Burgaw yesterday and support Mt. Calvary Center for Leadership Development at their community movie night. Not only did we get folks vaccinated, we distributed nearly 50 at-home COVID-19 tests 👏🏾👏🏾.

Big shout out to Elizabeth and Denise of Rocky Point Pavilion Pharmacy for volunteering their services to get the community vaccinated. Local business owners like Elizabeth are key to getting our state vaccinated.
