a word that’s been on my mind lately
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
after years of working in the fashion industry I found myself frustrated with the amount of poorly made garments the industry was producing
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
it was overwhelming & frustrating to feel that the garments I was purchasing were made too quickly just to get them to consumers as fast as possible
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I longed for clothing made with love & intention, to cherish for years to come
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
that’s when my slow fashion journey started
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I began to dig deeper, finding brands & designers that truly cared about us as consumers, the environment, their workers & about making a change in the fashion industry
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I started to slow down, consuming less, consuming intentionally & in overall slowing down in life to enjoy the things that bring me joy 🤍

I found I no longer craved those fast fashion, poorly made garments, my idea of fashion & life changed for the better
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
today I find myself slowing down if I’m craving something new. I do my do diligence, research & consider what I want to add to my wardrobe

being able to lean on the brands & designers I trust has made the process more enjoyable & easier to navigate because I get it, I too enjoy adding something new to our wardrobe. Why not be intentional about it & have it be something you really love?

how I stumbled by this unique & special designer: Alex Monroe ✨🌾

when I was living in London wandering & roving through the city, I came across the shop in near Covent Garden & the whimsical pieces in the window caught my eye right away. I remember walking into the store & being in awe of the beautifully made pieces. Each piece was so unique. I loved the connection to nature & the playfulness to each pieces. I stuck a card in my bag for safe keeping & took a serious mental note for my one day dream shop.
