El Paso Hand & Arm Rehab Center
"Treating patients injures as if they were our own since 1989" We are a privately owned company and are incorporated.
We understand that therapy can sometimes, and especially at first, be "painful," like flexor tendon and rotator cuff repairs, but we will be as careful and gentle as possible. Unfortunately, pain occurs when the body is injured, but pain also serves as a protective mechanism. Pain tells our body that something is not right. Usually as you progress with your therapy, the pain begins to subside unti
This is how the surgical incision looks like for an open repair for rotator cuff. Usually the patient has sustained a full thicknees tear. There are 4 rotator muscles known as the SITS muscles. Supraspinatis, infraspinatis, teres minor, and the subscapularis. The supraspintis is the most commonly ruptured rotator cuff which performs abduction of the shoulder. Rehab for a total rotator cuff repair can take at least 3 months at the minimum and usually up to 6 months or longer due to several factors. The patients age, underlying medical conditions such as diabetes and the patients motivation to comply with the orthopedic doctor orders to attend therapy. I also tell the patients that have this lovely incision to go to their local tattoo artist once the incision has healed and get a centipede tattooed ๐ . The only decision they have to make is where they want the head. The staples are the centipedes feet.
This Pt sustained a fracture to the left index at the proximal phalanx and to the 3rd metacarpal. Just started rehab last week. Will post photos on his/her progress. I am willing to wager one whole dollar he/she will regain full motion. Any takers.๐
Had this patient a few years ago that sustained a degloving injury to his hand requiring multiple surgeries and skin grafts and of course intensive hand rehab. He basically regained 100% usage of his hand to include bowling. Hats off to my incredible staff.
Had a patient who sustained a crush injury to his Rt middle finger when a portion of an automobile motor fall on his finger that he was working on. He initially began rehab on July 20th 2021 and today September 9th 2021 was his final evaluation. He obtained full motion to the finger and strength to the hand. A job well done. Thanks to all my wonderful employees at El Paso Hand & Arm Rehab.

Needless to say this patient sustained or suffered a very devastating injury.
Even though this rehab therapy facility specializes in hand and arm injuries we also rehab feet injuries. Obviously the hand is way more complicated than the foot but still has joints that need to be mobilized.
Another patient that sustained a flexor tendon repair. Actually if memory serves me well he recovered nearly 100 percent of usage of his hand to include motion and strength.
A patient that sustained a laceration to the flexor tendons of the ring and small fingers that required a protective flexor tendon splint with early motion to minimize scar tissue and promote tendon gliding. I've been treating patients that have undergone flexor tendon repairs since 1985 and counting.
