It was a Communion Sunday and we were blessed with the joy of coming together in Confession and Absolution, in the Word of God, and at the table of our Lord’s Supper.

You’re invited to join us next Sunday!

We are truly grateful for Ysleta Lutheran Mission Human Care, who serves as a bridge between congregations and communities.

They facilitated the partnership between our congregation and Bethel Lutheran Church of Alberta, Canada, who came to serve through YLM.

We're thankful for the many opportunities God give His children to labor in love as One Body, the Church of His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ!

We were greatly blessed this Sunday!

Dominic and Yesenia, both Confirmation students from youth and adult classes, read Sunday’s Scripture readings.

The children’s message reminded everyone God’s Word is Truth and Right and Good no matter what the world says or does.

Our guest preacher, Rev. Misael Tovar of Gloria DEI Lutheran Church from Chihuahua, gave a beautiful message of God’s goodness in His calling for us to follow Him in all things.

Our Thursday Bible Study Bible Group has decided to put faith into action, alternating Bible study and projects to help beautify our church.

Today was the first step towards repurposing pallets to make flower boxes for each side of our church.

Our members are such a blessing to the ministry of San Pablo Lutheran Church!

Over 100 years ago . . . someone planted an oak tree in Minnesota. It was planted to provide shade and beauty. But God had other plans for this oak tree.

Several years later, a girl from Minnesota fell in love with a boy from Nebraska, and they got married. As the girl moved to Nebraska, he brought this oak tree back to Nebraska to remind her of Minnesota. But God had other plans for this oak tree.

Time passed by. Those who planted the oak were long gone, and so were the couple whose marriage the tree had been a part of. And, yes, the oak too, eventually was cut down. But God had other plans for this oak tree.

Instead of being cut down and destined for firewood, a woodworker in Madison, Nebraska, procured the old mammoth 10 foot tall, 4 foot wide tree trunk. He took it to his shop, saving it from the fire, because God had other plans for this oak tree.

For 4 years the woodworker walked by the giant oak. Did God have plans for this oak tree?

This woodworker went on a mission trip to Ysleta Lutheran Mission. While there, he saw the old, weathered, front doors of San Pablo Lutheran Church. It was then that God revealed to this woodworker the big plans He had for this old oak tree.

100 years and 3 states later, God's plan for the old oak tree was manifested. Today, we dedicated and blessed the new, hand-made, beautiful front doors that now adorn San Pablo.

Only God knew the purpose for this oak tree. Instead of ashes, its beauty continues to reflect the glory of its Creator.

If God can do this to an oak tree, ponder what plans and purposes He has for you.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

The Church Doors Trío started early this morning!

Stopping long enough to have breakfast, they went back to work until lunch, which was followed by siesta time.

The doors are in place and tomorrow, they continue to secure them and install our stain glass window!

Through YLM , a team of three from Madison, NE committed to come down and replace the front doors of our church.

One of them is a custom woodworker and he designed and built custom doors and today was their first day in removing the old doors, preserving our stain glass window, and preparing the doorway for new custom-made frames.

We are blessed by these men thanks to partnerships in ministry!!!

Yesterday, we were blessed to be in the presence of God at our Divine Service.

We welcomed another sister in Christ through baptism, children gathered at the feet of the cross to learn of the power of Jesus’ name, and we came to the table to eat and drink for the forgiveness of our sins.

Second Sunday after Easter was greatly blessed!

The family of Christ was increased by four through the miracle of baptism, blessings were poured over 22 missionaries serving at YLM, our children’s message on Acts 4 brought joy to all present, and God’s Word was fulfilling to all who heard.

Alleluia! Christ has risen!
