Debond day! Take a look at the caption below to see all the details of her case! ā¬ļø
Our amazing patient came in with a chief complaint of crowding on the bottom and malalignment of her upper teeth. She also didnāt like her āoverbiteā ā known as an overjet in the orthodontic world.
Hereās her problem list when she came to us
1)Moderate crowding on the upper and lower
2)Class II canine and molar on both sides
3)Moderate curve of Spee and Wilson
4)Severe deep bite
5)Moderate overjet
6)Prognathic maxilla, orthognathic mandible
7)Upper teeth protrusive and proclined, lower teeth in a normal position
8)Chips on her upper front teeth
We decided to treat her with extractions of upper first premolars, allowing the upper teeth to meet the lower teeth without compromising her facial profile or pushing her lower teeth too far forward with class II correction. I also temporarily built up her upper right front teeth to obtain beautiful symmetry!
Her treatment took 26 months. We love her results! What do you think?!
Happy first day of school to everyone at EPISD!
I canāt believe my baby girl is in pre-K already!! Cue the mama tears! š„¹
Feeling all the love today š So grateful for another year around the sun! Thank you so much, for the cutest birthday cake ever!
What an amazing before and after for awesome patient, Ryan!
Ryan came to us with his overjet being his primary concern.
Hereās the problem list that we started with:
-Moderate crowding on top and bottom
-Flared upper teeth
-Impinging deep bite
-His upper teeth were too far forward relative to his lower teeth on the left side
-Midlines off with each other
-Minimal upper incisor show
We treated Ryan with a Herbst appliance with more activation on his left side than his right to correct his bite. We also had upper and lower braces and rubberbands, focusing on showing more of his upper teeth when smiling. His treatment took 2.5 years!
We love his results! What do you think?! Let us know in the comments below!
Check out our beautiful patient, Aleana! She didnāt like the crookedness and spacing of her upper front teeth. While we had the option of leaving everything as is until sheās older, she wanted to get everything straight.
Only 8 months of 6 upper braces, and her teeth are looking fabulous! We bonded a lingual retainer to her upper teeth to make sure they stay nice and straight until sheās ready for comprehensive treatment later.
Did you know that as orthodontists, weāre looking at more than just straightening teeth?
Hereās a great before and after of one of our beautiful patients this week!
Hereās the problem list we started with:
- Moderate/severe crowding on top and bottom
- Severe protrusion of the upper and lower incisors
- Mentalis strain (chin furrowing) upon closure
- Severe overjet
- Class II full step on the left and half step on the right
- Lower midline 2mm left of the upper
- Thin gum tissue around the lower left incisors
- Missing upper right 2nd molar
- Impacted lower left wisdom tooth
We treated our amazing patient with braces, elastics, and extractions of upper first premolars, lower second premolars, and all wisdom teeth (except the upper right one, which we planned to bring into the upper right 2nd molar position). Her case took us 2.5 years.
We love her final result! We eliminated her strain, kept the teeth in the bone, and gave her a beautiful smile!
Happy Fatherās Day, ! Kelly, Austin, and I are so lucky to have you! We love you so much!
Happy 6 years to my amazing husband, ! I love doing life with you! š

Debond day for our amazing patient, Jacorey!
Hereās the problem list that Jacorey started with:
-Moderate/severe crowding on top and bottom
-Square arch form on the lower
-Upper front teeth angled back (retroclined)
-Severe deep bite
-Difficulty cleaning between his lower front teeth due to severe crowding
We treated Jacorey with upper and lower braces for 2 years. Our treatment was elongated a bit due to him getting deployed, but the final result is so worth it!
Weāre so grateful for your service, Jacorey, and weāre glad we were able to serve you!
Happy Motherās Day to all of our wonderful mamas! Motherhood is truly the greatest blessing š
2ļøā£ month aligner transformation!
Our awesome patient came in with the chief complaint of a gap between her upper front teeth and some lower crowding. We treated her with 6 aligners on the top and bottom with the goal of closing her upper gap, aligning her lower teeth, and pushing her lower teeth down to prevent heavy contacts.
Do you have some minor changes with your teeth that youāre looking to fix? Come see how we can help make that smile a reality!
Check out this limited treatment case!
Our patient came in with the chief complaint that she wanted the gaps between her upper teeth closed and her lower teeth straightened. To accomplish this, we had to take her lower teeth and push them down (aka intrude them) so we could close the upper gaps without pushing the upper and lower teeth into each other. Total treatment time was 5 months of aligner wear to get us there! We finished by adding a little bit of composite to the edges of the upper lateral incisors to get everything nice and beautiful!
Ā
Kaitlyn came to us one appointment after getting braces bonded by a different practitioner. She and her parents werenāt the hugest fans of the experience they had with their first visit and wanted us to take over. We happily obliged!
Hereās the problem list that we started with:
-Moderate/severe crowding on top and bottom
-Square arch form on the top
-Lateral open bite at the canines with all 4 partially ectopic
-Upper left teeth are too far forward compared to lower teeth (class II)
-Upper 12-year-old molars not yet erupted
-Lower right baby second molar still present
We used Kaitlynās existing upper brackets (though later repositioned most of them). We treated her with upper and lower braces and rubberbands in 2 years. What do you think of her results?!
So grateful for our amazing patients who take the time out of their day to help us grow our practice š
Check out this 1ļøā£6ļøā£ months smile transformation!
Julian came to us with the complaint of crowding.
Hereās the problem list that we started with:
-Mild crowding on top and bottom
-Open bite tendency
-Upper left lateral incisor in crossbite
-Areas of recession around his upper and lower premolars and molars
-Open bite tendency
-Underbite tendency
-Upper right teeth are too far forward compared to lower teeth (class II)
-Minimal upper incisor show
We treated Julian with upper and lower braces and rubberbands, focusing on showing more of his upper teeth when smiling.
We love his results! Donāt you?!
Thank you so much, Melissa! Weāre so grateful that you trusted us in your daughterās care!
Itās been a while since Iāve introduced myself, so hereās a bit about me!
Iām a lucky mama of 2 - Kelly is 2.5 and Austin is almost 4 months! Being a mother is the best privilege in the world! My amazing husband, Kyle, is a general dentist and works across the parking lot from my West office! Weāre also the parents to our kitty, Floss, whoās about to be 7 years old!
Kyle and I met in dental school at the University of Texas Health San Antonio School of Dentistry (we were in the same class) and married right after graduation! We then moved to Dallas, where I did my orthodontic residency at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. We moved to El Paso after residency and have been practicing here ever since! Iām SO lucky to be doing life with him! š©µ
I started my Northeast office in September of 2021 (where I work with my dad whoās a general dentist) and my West office in August of 2023. Iām so grateful to be able to serve the community that helped shape me!
When not doing orthodontics, I like to play with my kids, do Peloton workouts, hike in the beautiful El Paso mountains, read, online shop (sorry Kyle š), play flute or piano, and hang out with our family/friends/church community! My faith is at the forefront of all that I do, and Iām so grateful to the Lord whoās helped guide my life!
Thank you so much to .cook.photography for capturing our family! Youāre the absolute best!!
Check out this case!
Hereās the problem list we had for our sweet patient, Alexis.
- He had moderate spacing on the upper and lower
- His midlines were off with each other
- He had a deep bite
- His upper premolars were completely outside of his bottom teeth on the left (called a Brody bite), and almost all the way there with his right premolars
- His upper teeth and jaw were too far forward relative to his lower teeth/jaw (called class II)
- His upper teeth were angled back to the bottom teeth, disguising the jaw discrepancy
We used braces, a Herbst appliance, and elastics to fix his bite. He had the Herbst appliance in for 10 months and was in braces for 2.5 years.
Let us know what you think of his results!
Iām proud to announce that Iāve been selected to be a member of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics Clinical Advisory Council! The council comprises orthodontists from all around the world that serve to provide expertise in orthodontics!

Check out this smile transformation!
Our wonderful patient came to us with a chief complaint of crowding and that she didnāt like where her upper canines were.
Hereās the problem list that we started with:
- Severe crowding on top
- Moderate crowding on the bottom
- Thin gum tissue along the lower front teeth and a general gingival thin biotype
- Midlines off
- Upper right teeth are too far forward compared to lower teeth (class II)
- Moderate overjet (horizontal overlap of teeth)
While multiple options were presented to her, to maintain the integrity of the lower gum tissue and prevent excessive flaring of the lower teeth, we chose to extract upper first premolars and lower second premolars with no anchorage. She wore some rubberbands to help get her bite to fit nicely! Total treatment was 28 months.
Look at that healthy gum tissue around her lower front teeth now! We opted for lower fixed retainers and upper and lower clear retainers to keep her spaces closed.
We love her results! Donāt you?!
Thank you so much for the kind review, Lori! I strive to have my patients be completely in the know when it comes to their treatment. Thatās also why I love making educational videos! The more we know, the better we can be!
Have you had a good experience with our office? Weād so appreciate you letting us know by leaving a Google review!
This is another case that highlights what orthodontists do best! We donāt simply straighten teeth ā we optimize the position of the teeth and jaws to make a patient look and function their best!
The first thing to note is that the patientās teeth were too far out ā so much so that she had to strain her chin to close her lips! See that furrowing of her chin in the before profile photo?
We chose to extract teeth in her case for 2 reasons: 1) to prevent her teeth from pushing further outside of the bone and 2) to not make her lip strain worse. Multiple options were presented to her, including surgery, but this was ultimately what we decided to go with! We also used temporary anchorage devices on the top and bottom to prevent further opening of her bite that would have resulted in clockwise rotation of her lower jaw. After getting the spaces closed and correcting her bite with minimal rubberbands, we did a little bit of polishing of her upper and lower teeth to get everything beautiful and symmetric!
Her treatment took 2 and a half years. She now has upper and lower Essix retainers to help keep everything in place and the spaces closed.
Things to note:
- Her lips look more balanced and they donāt look thin! Thatās because we relieved the strain!
- Her chin is more relaxed and looks more defined. Again, itās because we resolved her strain!
- Her lower teeth are more in the bone! While the angle of the teeth is slightly increased, they are more in the bone! This should help with increased sturdiness of the teeth over time so she can hopefully keep her teeth forever!
We love her results! Donāt you?!
Smile under construction! šš·š»
Thank you, , for the cute onesie!
Oh no, why is that molar sitting sideways?!
This is what our patient thought when he came to see us!
Our patient came in with moderate crowding on the top and bottom, midlines that were off with each other, his upper left teeth were too far forward (called class II), he had a large overjet (horizontal overlap of his teeth), and his lower right 2nd molar was impacted.
To treat him we chose to extract his upper right 2nd premolar, his upper left first premolar, and all of his wisdom teeth. The extractions helped us to correct the class II without pushing his teeth too far forward, outside of the bone. You can see from his before and after profile shots that his lips didnāt come back; in fact, they may have still come forward a little because of the bit of crowding we corrected on the lower! We had a surgeon bond a gold chain to the lower right 2nd molar and we uprighted the tooth with a Haltermann appliance.
His treatment took 2 years and 2 months and chose to retain his teeth with upper and lower Essix retainers.
We love his results, donāt you?!
Debond Day! Happy New Year to our awesome patient, Steven!
Steven had mild crowding on top, moderate crowding on the lower, and his lower right first premolar had been pushed out into crossbite. We treated him for 15 months with upper and lower braces, some slight interproximal reduction, and rubberbands. What do you think about his results?!
Want a new smile this year? Come on in for a complimentary exam to see how we can get your smile to be as beautiful as Stevenās!
