Chapter Companions attended the virtual Spring Region XIII meeting tonight. Chapters shared an overview of OY 2023-2024 activities. Representatives from chapters in Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico along with the Greater El Paso Chapter, Military Order of the World Wars attended the meeting.

Texas Veterans Commission recognized Women Veterans at a luncheon at the Women's Club of El Paso on June 15 to celebrate Women Veterans Day. Thanks to the Companions and Patriots who attended to celebrate the impact Women Veterans continue to have on our community!

El Paso Police Department, Mission Valley Regional Command Tactical Unit was recognized as the Chapter's Law Enforcement Unit of the Year. A UNIT Plaque and Certificates were presented. Thank you for keeping us safe!

The Chapter also re-presented a plaque of recognition of Companion Laura Beltran by the Yucca Scout Council as an Outstanding Woman Volunteer in Scouting. Congratulations Laura! Well-deserved!

Also at today's Chapter meeting we had guests participating. BG Jack Kotter was recognized for his past participation in the Chapter's Veterans Forums, where we visit elementary schools during the weeks prior to Veterans Day! BG Kotter shared his experiences. He was encouraged to become Companion. We also had a representative from the West Texas Constitutional Association who spoke about the purpose and activities of the group in Civics education. Blas was encouraged to return and participate as a Patriot with the Chapter.

Today's Chapter meeting focused on recognition of Tactical Officer Lorenzo Olivas of the Mission Valley Regional Command Tactical Unit as the Chapter's Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Unfortunately Officer Olivas was ill today. SGT Victor Vela accepted the plaque and Certificate of Appreciation for Officer Olivas.

Additionally, the Mission Valley Regional Command Tactical Unit was recognized as the Chapter's Law Enforcement Unit of the Year! The Mission Valley Regional Command is part of the El Paso Police Department. A Unit plaque and Unit Certificate of Appreciation was presented. Also, each member of the Tactical Unit received a Certificate of Appreciation!

Congratulations to all!

Family and friends were on hand to congratulate the Officers as well.

Thanks for making our community a safer place!

The May 17, 2024 Hybrid Chapter Meeting recognized recent Eagle Scout recipients. Yucca Council Commissioner and MOWW Patriot was guest speaker and talked about changes in organization affecting west Texas and New Mexico with the merger.
