On Tuesday, July 2nd between 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., a helicopter will be arriving at Laguna Creek High School to remove several HVAC units from the roofs of our school buildings. Due to the nature of this operation and to ensure the safety of all students, staff, and families, the campus will be closed.
We understand that this may be loud and cause some inconvenience, but please know that this measure is necessary to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Shelly Clark Dixon Library Dedication. Shelly was a beloved teacher, vice principal, principal and human resources director in Elk Grove Unified for 28 years. The Marion Mix Elementary library now bears her name, ensuring her legacy of dedication to education and to the community. We appreciate the heartfelt stories shared and support from all who came to honor her memory.

Walk & Roll to School Day! Marion Mix Elementary is celebrating the benefits of walking and bicycling to school! Students are encouraged to Walk, Bike, & Roll to school on October 4th, 2023. The school with the most student participants has a chance to win some awesome district prizes, such as new outdoor picnic tables! Go MAVS!

Elk Grove Unified recognizes Hmong American Day on May 14, 2022. Hmong American Day is a time to remember and honor Hmong people’s history, stories and contributions in the Vietnam War. May 14, 1975 was the last airlift evacuation of Hmong soldiers and families from Laos to a refugee camp in Thailand, and many Hmong refugees and their families immigrated to the United States. Today, over 40,000 of the more than 325,000 Hmong Americans are residents of Sacramento County. Hmong Americans are helping build a vibrant and diverse California, contributing socially, politically, and economically to our State. EGUSD celebrates the history, culture and contributions of Hmong Americans in California.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends that young people aged 6-17 participate in at least 60 minutes of physical activity daily. Research shows that physically active children are more likely to thrive academically and have improved behavior in school. EGUSD promotes physical activity through comprehensive school physical activity programs, including recess, classroom-based physical activity, intramural physical activity clubs, interscholastic sports, and physical education.
