We have several individuals from our Day Hab program entering The Arc New York’s
2024 Art Competition!
The Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law on July 26th, 1990-- 34 years ago, today.

July 26 marks the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)!
Today, we celebrate this important civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public.
These men had some crafty fun on Sunday, making flag banners for their rooms! Great job!

Rosie was very excited to hang the birdhouse at her residence. She had previously made this during Community Hab.
Kathryn enjoyed an outing to Harris Hill to play some miniature golf. Kathryn thanked staff for taking her and stated that she would like to go again!
DC nonprofit partners with Mattel on first Black Barbie with Down syndrome A Washington D.C.-based nonprofit organization partnered with Mattel to create the first-ever Black Barbie with Down syndrome.
Community Hab individuals have been working hard and they’ve had GREAT success with their gardens this year. Check out a few of their hauls, so far!
John, Brenden, and Vinny enjoyed an outing to Downtown Elmira’s Alive After Five where they got to build with giant Legos and dance together, as well as see some familiar faces they hadn't seen in a while. It was a great night!
Chris and Linda enjoyed the Upper Gorge Entrance at Watkins Glen State Park.
Annette went out for breakfast at Chef's.

These individuals went on a group outing to the Hershey Comic-Con! A great time was had by all.
Tony, Kaitlyn, and Sarah received The Arc Chemung-Schuyler’s trophy for the largest team for the Walk a Mile in My Shoes event-- for the second year in a row.
A well-deserved recognition of all of their hard-work putting our team together this year!

Power has been restored to The Arc Chemung-Schuyler’s Elmira and Watkins Glen offices - so business as usual. 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘧𝘧, 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘦-𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘳.
Annette has been enjoying her retirement from Day Hab by enjoying walks everyday and going to get the mail.

Schuyler County Transit is operating as normal as possible, but under caution. Please expect possible delays as there is still a lot of storm damage and many areas without power.
Reminder: All intersections become 4 way stops when there are no working lights. All traffic must stop and make sure the intersection is safe and clear before entering.
