MEET BRANDON WARD: OUR OL STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Brandon came to Mercyhurst University in 2009 to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport Business Management. He is completing his Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Human Resources.

Brandon currently works as a Graduate Assistant for the Mercyhurst Recreation and Fitness Center and is the Graduate Manager for the Mercyhurst Men’s Basketball Team.

For the past three summers he served as a Peer Mentor with the Autism Initiative at Mercyhurst (AIM) program. Aside from working with AIM, he also assisted with the operation of the Mercyhurst University annual basketball camp.

Brandon worked as a full-time teacher’s assistant at Mercyhurst Child Learning Center with preschool age children prior to returning to school to complete his post-graduate degree.

In the future, Brandon plans to gain more experience in the human resources field and pursue a career in sustainability.

MEET OUR OL STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Brigid Hurley came to Mercyhurst University in 2014 to earn her Masters of Science degree in Organizational Leadership. At Mercyhurst, she is currently Interim Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach for the 2016 season. Previously, Brigid worked as a Graduate Assistant for the Women’s Lacrosse team.

Brigid earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. While at St. Lawrence, Brigid was a Captain on the Women’s Varsity Lacrosse Team for four years where she earned first team All-League and Regional All American in May 2013. She was also Vice President of Kappa Delta Sigma Sorority for over a year.

Upon graduating from St. Lawrence, Brigid spent a year in Manchester, England working for the English Lacrosse Association. In England she worked as the Head Coach for the University of Manchester Women’s lacrosse team and was hired by local schools to coach lacrosse, promote the sport, and recruit players for her local lacrosse club.
