Summer will be here before we know it... which means VBS will be here before we know it! VBS will be Monday, June 26 through Thursday, June 29. Mark your calendar now! We'll be exploring the mysteries of the Bible with Kingdom Seekers VBS from The Bible Project. If you're interested in serving during VBS in any way, contact Jenni Grace at [email protected]. There will be a VBS volunteer interest meeting in the Student Room on Sunday, May 21st following 11am worship.

For the past 4 years, KidCity has had the best time 'egging' our families' houses in the weeks leading up to Easter. This year, we want to expand our 'egging' by adding an additional 50 neighbors to our list. We want to share the hope of the resurrection (and a fun treat) with as many families as we can! So, who in your neighborhood or who of your friends can we egg? Also, stuff Easter eggs with us on Sunday, March 19 or Wednesday March 22! Let Jenni Grace know who we can "egg" and if you're able to stuff eggs with us by emailing her at [email protected].

Who does God say that I am? In March and April, KidCity will be discovering who they are in Christ through small group Bible study and creative projects! This week we are digging into Luke 19:1-10 and Psalm 139:1-6, discovering what it means to be known by God. We will also be working on colorful self-portraits! KidCity small groups meet on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:45pm and are divided by Pre-K, K-2nd, and 3rd-5th. For more on all things KidCity, contact Jenni Grace at [email protected].

Epic Students will lead us in worship, along with a few of KidCity's favorite worship videos. Kids and students will dotate around different worship and prayer stations, worshiping God through Hebrew worship words KidCity has been learning this winter. Tonight, KidCity begins 5-weeks of super awesome science experiments that lead us closer to Jesus. First up: Soda and Mentos. How on earth do mentos and soda lead us to Jesus?! We'll dig into John 6:1-13 where Jesus takes a little fish and bread and feeds a whole lot of people... kind of like how little mentos dropped in soda cause a huge geyser! Yesterday morning, we had a blast learning about Aquila and Priscilla in Acts 18! Aquila and Priscilla left everything they had to serve God and share the Gospel from Rome, to Corinth, to Ephesus. They trusted God and obeyed His calling to lead Apollo in leading others and partner with Paul in discipling people. Through Priscilla and Aquila's story, we discovered that we too can trust God's path for us, and follow His lead in loving the people He puts around us. Summer has flown by! How is it that many begin a new school year today? Or have already begun this week? Join us in praying over our students, school faculty and staff, and families!

God of fresh starts and new beginnings, we bring ourselves, our big feelings, and this school year ahead. In our bags and backpacks we carry blank pages, sharpened pencils, and pointy crayons, and in our hearts we carry big feelings, unanswered questions, and hopeful expectations. There are endless possibilities of what this new year might bring — of what we might learn, who we might meet, and who we might become. God who is always with us, be with us through it all. Be with us as we ride the bus. Be with us as we walk. Be with us as we buck seat belts, zip-up jackets, and tie shoes. However we get there, and whatever we wear, bless this journey into something new. Be with our teachers and administrators, our parents and caregivers. Thank you for our teachers, helpers, caregivers, and leaders, and for all they do to help us learn and grow. Strengthen them to surround our students with support, encouragement, and love, and strengthen us to do the same for them. Fill us all with the joy of learning so that we may be better equipped to be your servants. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the school year ahead and all that it will bring. Amen.

KidCity raised $14.26 in change at Awana for our global mission partners! Woohoo! We learned about the incredible work that Hope for Today is doing in Southeast Asia. One of their biggest ministries is providing safe and loving and caring homes for children on the streets of Asia, insuring that they have shelter, nourishing foods, and loving caregivers in their school and children's homes. We also learned about Venezuela Now and the crate we sent to Venezuela in 2020!

Our change collection continues next week! We'll learn about two more of our global mission partners: Christian Flights International and TMS Global.

Tomorrow is Nickel & Dime night at Awana! Do you have any spare changing lying around the house? Bring it in for our mission partners this Wednesday, March 23 and next Wednesday, March 30! Our large group time will be devoted to learning about missions, Jesus' Great Commission, and two of our mission partners each week. Our global mission partners include Christian Flights International (Haiti), Venezuela Now, Hope for Today (India), and TMS Global.

KidCity worship was filled with excitement yesterday morning! We praised the Lord through song and dance to three of our favorite worship songs: Tremble, Good Good Father, and In Christ Alone; played a game of Zonk! (our version of Jeopardy), and shared a delicious fruit salad.

Yesterday morning, we encountered Elijah taking on the prophets of Baal before fleeing to Mount Horeb. They challenged him to a contest....Whose god is the one true god? God showed Himself to be Yahweh, the Most High God to the prophets of Baal.

KidCity News - February 11th ❤️ Happy Valentine's Day weekend, friends! Check out how the Lord is moving in KidCity! KidCity News - Week of February 11th "You've Been Egged!" 2022 is underway! Easter will be here before we know it!

We had a great time celebrating and remembering God is trustworthy on Sunday morning! We raised a hallelujah, played a game of Zonk! (kind of like Jeopardy), and used veggies to make Bible scenes. Any guesses of what story these veggie scenes are telling? I'll give you some hints...one involves sheep, one a little baby, and one a sea!

Tomorrow night is Pajama Night at Awana! KidCity kids and leaders are invited to wear their favorite pajamas...slippers and robes are welcome, too! Awana is for children Pre-K through 5th grades, and includes snack, small group Bible time, large group worship and lesson, and games! Nursery is available for 3 and under for families attending LifeGroups. For more information, contact Jenni Grace at [email protected].

On Sunday morning we explored who God reveals Himself to be in the Bible - the Big God Story - in the book of Ruth. We discovered what and who a kinsman-redeemer is, both in Ruth's story and our story! We love making our own story boards, retelling Ruth and Naomi's beautiful story of redemption. Find more in Ruth 1-4.

Though our curriculum has changed, our Minutes, Moments, and Milestones remain the same! Here's ways you can make room for Minutes this week...

Set up a simple obstacle course by scattering different objects in a big room inside or outside in your yard. Blindfold one family member and have another family member verbally guide the blindfolded person through the obstacle course. Encourage each other to take a turn being blindfolded and guided through the course. Once everyone has had their turn, talk about what it felt like to place your trust in another family member to guide you correctly. Share with your children that we can always trust God. He gives us clear directions and walks with us along the way. Read Psalm 19 and celebrate together that we can always trust God!

Counselors, authors, and hosts of the "Raising Boys & Girls" podcast, David Thomas and Sissy Goff will be in town at Trinity on the Hill for an interactive 2-day seminar to help you gain a deeper understanding of unique development phases of children. Jenni Grace personally LOVES the work that David and Sissy do (she wants to be Sissy when she "grows up")! You don't want to miss out!

This will be at Trinity on the Hill in Augusta. Their address is: 1330 Monte Sano Ave, Augusta, GA 30904
