The early church was incredibly successful in the work of reaching the world with the good news of Jesus. So what was their secret? Prayer! Their plan was prayer. This particular Wednesday we will make space to pray over our students and children as we step into a new year.

So join us Wednesday, January 3 at 6:15p as we seek the Lord for loved ones, co-workers, and friends who need to be lifted up in prayer. We will pray, we will listen for God’s wisdom and guidance, and then we will watch God open opportunities around us to minister in His name.

Photos from Mosaic Church Evans's post 12/18/2023

Yesterday, KidCity got into week three of The Jesus Family Tree: Jesse & David. From the family line of Abraham, many years later, a man in God’s family named Jesse had many sons. God told the prophet Samuel to anoint one of Jesse’s sons as king. One by one, Jesse’s sons appeared before Samuel, yet God said none of them was the one He had chosen. Finally, Jesse sent for his youngest son, David. David was not as tall or strong as his older brothers, yet when Samuel saw him, God said, “Stand up and anoint him; David is the one I’ve chosen.”

God doesn’t look at outward appearances like people do. God sees beyond what we see, and God knew David loved Him. A few years later, David became king of Israel and served God with his whole heart, leading God’s people well. Two hundred years after David was king, the enemies of God’s people were closing in, and it looked like the family line of Jesse and David was going to end. But then, God spoke through a prophet named Isaiah.

God said through Isaiah that “Jesse’s family is like a tree that has been cut down.” Isaiah prophesied that “a new little tree will grow from its stump. From its roots a Branch will grow and produce fruit” (Isaiah 11:1, NIrV).

God sees beyond what Jesse, David, and the people of Israel could see. God looks at their family tree and sees Jesus—our King forever. When we can only see the 5%, God sees beyond what we see! He sees the BIG PICTURE -- the 95% that we can't see. How can you trust God with and in the 95% unseen today?

It is a miracle that Mary would have such faith as to believe that God's plan could be accomplished through her. But the miracle of faith is not just Mary's. There are miracles of faith all over the Christmas story. Joseph believed the word of angels. The shepherds talked to angels, too, and believed what they were told. Elizabeth (Mary's aunt) was filled with the Holy Spirit and believed that God was working out his plan through her, also. And what the Story of Christmas asked of those faith-stretched people, it asks of us, too. And every time faith happens, it is a miracle. What is the story of Christmas asking you believe about God? What is it asking you to believe of the world around you? What new level of faith is it calling you toward? Come this Sunday and let's stretch toward a God-sized vision with God-given faith. See you on Sunday at 9 and 11am!

Our Story

Mosaic began in 2003 when Steve, Carolyn and Claire Marie Moore moved to Evans, Georgia. Carolyn is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, with a special call to raise up new projects. She asked for the privilege of starting a new church, and was excited for the opportunity to see Mosaic come to life. Mosaic began in the Moores' living room and spent two years in the Evans High School auditorium before moving to a warehouse on Columbia Industrial Boulevard. Since then, we have had the joy of seeing literally hundreds of folks come to Jesus and receive their baptism.
