A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to launch our Back In The Swing Of Things (BITSOT) Program and it was amazing.

Our BITSOT program allows us to offer a hands-on
OTJ concept while helping each person to better understand their capabilities to make it in today's workforce this includes

Time Management, Professionalism, Professional Appearance, Customer Service, Sanitation and Disinfecting Practices, Teamwork, and Self-Initiative.
Throughout the project we were able to provide clear insight with the participants to help better understand key skills that are needed to be focused on to be able to not only obtain a job but to achieve the goal of staying on the job.

We would like to thank Stand Fast for allowing us to to work side by side with them and understand how this program can grow and become beneficial for many other employers to participate in our program.
But we want to offer a BIG thank you for each of the guys who attended and completed the 9 day program.

This is the first of many and we look forward to all of the future opportunities to partner with you!!!!

Contact us for more information at [email protected] and for donations to support our efforts on expanding our BITSOT program visit us at www.Blountbeginnings.com

We are beyond thankful for not only our community but for the extended Blount family for the support on fresh linen, clothes, toiletries, and prayers for our first out of town BITSOT OJT Program.

The participants will be in Athens, Ga. For the next 9 days gaining essential hands-on OJT experience to assist with helping obtain future employment.

With this opportunity being new we have been blessed to have space for up to 4 more participants whether it be male or female.

We look forward to partner with organizations in our community to better serve and help change lives.

Today I went downtown Augusta to go and get a few job applications. Quarterly and sometimes yearly employers will update their applications and while most of us are comfortable and have knowledge of how to fill out an online application some of the guys who come through our program don’t understand why each question should be answered carefully and correctly.

We focus on meeting people where they are and if you’ve been “Working Under The Table” for 10+ years it’s difficult to adapt or understand why some of these applications can be so confusing. That’s why it’s important to practice and when an opportunity presents itself you won’t need the help filling out an application.

Many jobs aren’t hiring but they understand I need their applications for training purposes with my guys and hopefully as in the past some of these jobs will open new doors.

This is what many of us may know as a prison SHANK, and in your mind I’m sure it may even force you to ask the question of “WHY”. Even though illegal in prison, many persons use it for protection, but to find it in one of our houses forces us to ask why would you need it in the free world?

This shank represents a broken person, a person who is known as INSTITUTIONALIZED but in reality it’s his mindset, and even though free he feels to some extent that he needs this for protection even with there being many kitchen knives that are available at any given time, this his is what makes him feel safe.

This is what our organization tries to focus on and help build in the mindset of the guys that come into our program, our focus is to teach and really provide a habitable change for rehabilitation while coming out of the prison system.

As always, we thank everyone for your support, but we also ask for your prayers. We hope everyone has a safe and blessed day.

Bittersweet day for us today because we’re hating to see one of the nicest, most genuine men you’ll ever meet Mr. Wayne leave. We have learned ao much from one another and now it’s time for him to start the official journey of “Papa” status.

As we know the term papa isn’t just given but it’s earned and we think those two future football players have one amazing papa.

Enjoy your grands Mr. Wayne in your very own apartment.

One more person served and one more life changed.

If you have received a free phone or know someone who has received a free phone while using government assistance such as food stamps, Medicaid, etc, through cricket wireless.. the program is being shut down. Each person will now be responsible for paying $30 a month.

To many of us, that doesn’t seem like a lot but for people who are on a fixed income this can be a big blow for them.

If you know someone please educate them and let them know that April 17th will be the last day of free service.

Thanks 🙏

🌟 **Blount Beginnings Update** 🌟

Today, we were reminded of our community's resilience. A swift and coordinated effort ensured one of our members received immediate care, highlighting the strength of support and professional assistance available during critical times.

We are grateful for the dedicated facilities providing specialized care. Our thoughts and prayers accompany our member on their 14-day recovery journey, and we eagerly await their return to continue their path with us.

Together, we stand strong. 🙏

🚀 Meet Roscoe, A.K.A. Jimmy Lee: The Man, The Myth, The Legend 🚀
From the day Roscoe stepped through our doors at Blount Beginnings, he carried a dream that shimmered with hope: to return home to Tennessee. Today, we're overflowing with joy to share that he's turned that dream into a breathtaking reality. 🏡✨

Roscoe's journey is a testament to the power of resilience, courage, and unyielding determination. Battling a drug habit that shadowed him since he was 17, Roscoe emerged victorious, conquering challenge after challenge. His commitment shone brightly as he passed every drug screen and surpassed all requirements, sidestepping the need for an ankle monitor. A freedom, we believe, is a beautiful gift to his children, an 18-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son, whom he's about to embrace after seven long years. 👨‍👧‍👦❤️

The transformation we've witnessed in Roscoe is nothing short of miraculous. He walked into Blount Beginnings one person, and today, he stands before us as another—a beacon of hope, showing us all that change is possible, and dreams do come true.
As we bid farewell to Roscoe, embarking on his new chapter back in Tennessee, we're not just saying goodbye to a client; we're celebrating a member of our family who's taught us the true meaning of perseverance and strength. 💪🎉

Special thanks to Dmichael Collier with Fresh StartZ for the fresh haircut 💇‍♂️ and allowing Roscoe to return home LITERALLY a changed man.

👏 Here's to Roscoe, to new beginnings, and to believing that the best is yet to come! 🥳

My focus has never been to work inside of the school systems AT ALL but after last week I see how effective a team of passionate people who truly care can come together and make a difference Andre Lacey Denzel Robinson Dmichael Collier had the chance to tag along with Greater Augusta Black Chamber of Commerce very own Ronic West and Shagraila Hammond and speak inside of a number of schools and speak life into to countless students ears, I can honestly say I was honored to ask to join. I know that there will be more great things to happen in the future

As we reflect on the journey of Blount Beginnings, we're filled with immense gratitude. It's because of YOU our supportive and generous community that we've been able to continue our mission. Each volunteer hour, every donation, and all words of encouragement have been pillars of strength for us.

Amidst this sea of support, one individual stands out for his extraordinary dedication Larry Owens. Mr. O has been a beacon of hope, guiding us with his relentless enthusiasm and unwavering commitment. Whether it's the early mornings or late nights, Larry's dedication to our cause has inspired us all.

This journey wouldn't have been the same without the unity and compassion of our community and the remarkable friends like Larry. As we move forward, let's continue to make a difference, together.

Thank you for being a part of our story. Here's to many more chapters of making an impact, hand in hand. 💙

Whew 😅 last night was a test and I feel like we passed. After getting a call at 11:45 PM that one of our clients had kicked in the door 🚪 snatched down a ceiling fan I knew it would be a long night.

I proceeded to call our wonderful police department Richmond County Sheriff's Office - Georgia who did a magnificent job at handling the situation until I arrived and their was clearly alcohol involve 🤦🏾‍♂️

Many people think they want to start a program involved with helping our underserved community but these are the things you deal with.

If you’d like to help further our mission we accept donations on our website www.Blountbeginnings.com .

🌟 What a Week at Blount Beginnings! 🌟
Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to dive into the world of professionalism in the workplace and the art of acing job interviews. And oh, what an amazing time we had! 🎉

A big shout-out to our very own dynamic duo, Devarion Blount and T'Asia Blount, for their insightful talks on a range of pivotal topics. Their expertise and passion truly shone through in every word. 🗣️✨

We were also thrilled to have the talented Andre Lacey join us, adding his unique perspective and invaluable insights to our discussion. Andre, your contribution was phenomenal! 👏

But, the real stars of the show? The fantastic class that joined us! Thank you for your eagerness to learn, your engaging questions, and your enthusiasm. You are the reason we do what we do, and it was an honor to share our knowledge with you. 🌟

A heartfelt thanks to the The Salvation Army of Augusta for trusting us to provide expert guidance to your students/clients. Your faith in our ability to make a positive impact means the world to us. 🙏

🌟 Hello Blount Beginnings Family 🌟

We're reaching out with a special request. We're searching for a daytime center in Downtown Augusta or North Augusta for one of our amazing clients. He has a disability and needs a welcoming place to be during the day.

We're facing some challenges with transportation and funding, but we do have access to Augusta transit bus services, which opens up some great possibilities. If you know a spot that could help, we'd love to hear from you!

Please visit our website [www.Blountbeginnings.com](http://www.Blountbeginnings.com) for more information or to reach out with suggestions.

Every bit of help brings us one step closer to finding the right place. Thank you for being a vital part of our mission.
