We would like to honor our Military Fathers who serve our country with unwavering dedication and courage as well as the fathers who raised the Soldiers themselves. You balance the immense responsibilities of duty and family, often facing long deployments and time away from your loved ones. Your resilience, strength, and patriotism inspire us all.
Thank you for your selfless service and for being steadfast role models for your children. On this special day, we honor and celebrate you for the incredible fathers you are, both in uniform and at home.

During our AT period we hosted a small competition to select the top soldier and noncommissioned officer to represent the 141 MEB at the 2025 Best Warrior Competition in August.
Hopeful competitors completed boards, weapons assembly and plank holds! 🤘👏💪
Over our 2024 Annual Training, CH (MAJ) Fenger & LT O’Connel offered a Financial Peace course. They spent three days diving into financial literacy components to help form healthy financial habits for Soldiers who chose to attend.
They learned techniques from Financial Peace University, Dave Ramsey & Seven Habits of Highly Effective Leaders.
We hope you’re having a safe Memorial Day weekend! If you’re in the Bismarck area on Monday, be sure to stop out at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery for the annual ceremony.
Congratulations to our newest Public Affairs NCOIC, SFC Brandi Schmidt!
We can’t wait to see how far you take the PA program!

And, that’s a wrap on annual training 2024! Congrats on the promotions, awards & coins. Job well done for an overall great AT!
We are ending our annual training period with sexual assault prevention training.
Following the story of a victim and understanding the lasting effects of sexual assault trauma, in small groups the MEB took turns reading and watching individual videos to understand the concepts of the SHARP program.
Little bragging rights for NDNG that most people don’t know: our SHARP curriculum team did such an awesome job that National Guard Bureau adopted our program this past year!
But we’re not quite done yet. More awards & coins to present for an outstanding job at annual training! Congrats all around! 👏🙌

We hope you had a 1-4-wonderful Wednesday. We are highlighting another Annual Training Battlefield Biography.
MSG Kirk Seaver is from the small town of Larimore, ND and is 4th generation NoDakian with a family history of military service. With a reluctant mother signing permission, young Pvt. Seaver joined the USMC in 1981 and graduated among the top of his class while learning his job related to electronics and switchboard repair.
After an approximate 4 year impressive time in the USMC, he decided to continue his service with the US Army reserves in 1988 where he pursued a job skill in food service. Shortly after, he transferred into the NDARNG where he continued to serve out his career. He currently serves as the senior food manager and food advisor in the MEB.
He trained the field feeding operations and planning/executing a brigade size field food operation in the MEB.
He has decided to hang up his hat in his military service with a retirement date set to September 2024 when he turns 60 years old!
He plans to enjoy retirement with his wife, Jacque. They live Rugby, ND. He has two sons, both orthopedic surgeons (dang!) with one also serving in the MNARNG.
We hope you’re enjoying the last bit of your last annual training ever, MSG Seaver.
And, that’s a wrap on the command post exercise! We have room for improvement but we also heard a lot of sustains and compliments. Thanks to Mission Training Complex-Dodge for your guidance in shaping our team this past week.
Next up for us on the AT docket: Camp Ripley for ranges and other fun training stuff!

Annual training battlefield biography:
Maj. Justin Fenger is our chaplain for the 141 MEB. He is from Cambridge, MN and has spent 17 years (and counting) in the military.
Chaplain enjoys home restoration and hiking. When away from home he is missing his wife, Katie, and children, Adelaide, Vada, and Mae.
He joined the military to give back and serve to the best of his capacity. He indicated his mentor to be Chaplain (Colonel) David Johnson and states “you will never find a more authentic, caring person who is always a professional.”
Chaplain Fenger words of advice to soldiers: “do the next right thing”
Our very own Col. Miller, MEB Commander, was invited to be part of a speaking panel at an event hosted by Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce. He highlighted the MEB & its presence in the metro community.
He was joined by Col. Domitrovich, 119th Wing North Dakota Air National Guard commander, and Maj. Hendrickson, Officer in Charge with the 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 136th Infantry Regiment of the Minnesota National Guard. Brian Shawn, Honorary Commander of MEB, was the moderator.

A very smooth transition, Sir!
You may have been “injured” during the simulated mass casualty event yesterday and have to write your own casualty card to turn into the S1, but you still have to finish out the remainder of AT. 😜
