With a long resume in the media industry, KUAF's new general manager, Clint Schaff, is ready to share stories in hopes of recreating the feeling he got as a young kid.
Watch the story that aired over the weekend on 5NEWS about KUAF 91.3 Public Radio and new general manager Clint Schaff.
How KUAF's new general manager plans to grow the public radio station "There are so many opportunities for collaboration, and I think KUAF can be the connective tissue in many ways for the collaboration to happen," said Clint Schaff.
I'm thrilled to announce that UATV just landed one of the highest honors in college journalism -- first in the nation for Best All-Around Newscast from the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Awards.
Recent winners have included University of Miami, Penn State, and USC.
Many congratulations to our talented students and faculty, particularly adviser and instructor Prof. Tiffany King, who devotes limitless energy (and what seems like infinite time) to UATV. This award shows why she is among the best anywhere in the country. We're lucky to have her.

Bobby Bones continued his tour today as a goodwill ambassador at the J-school. He is frank about growing up broke and traumatized in a tattered Arkansas town. The kids are impressed by his humility. He’s a good listener. He told them to put everything on the line, if this is what they want to do.
He said, If you think there’s anything else you might want to do — you think maybe you want to be a accountant — you should go be an accountant.
Congratulations and gratitude go to Prof. Ninette Sosa for creating the first student chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists in Arkansas. The J-school and its students are in her debt.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette seeks a Capitol bureau reporter:
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is looking for an experienced, energetic reporter for a position on its state Capitol bureau.
The Democrat-Gazette, based in the capital city of Little Rock, has maintained a three-reporter bureau since the 1980s. Our readers are intensely interested in news of state government and politics and those stories are among the most popular. Stories from the Capitol bureau often land on the front page and get good engagement on social media and on our website.
This bureau opening is for an enterprising journalist with a proven ability to write about politics, legislation, agencies, FOIA issues and anything else related to state government coverage. Our preference is for applicants who have a journalism degree and/or experience covering politics. A plus would be an ability to handle large amounts of data, including in spreadsheets, and a knowledge of social media.
Arkansas, as small as it is, produced one president and might provide more. The state is a gold mine of good stories. The Democrat-Gazette is known for its innovative program in which subscribers read today’s edition on iPads. We also provide breaking news on our website, arkansasonline.com.
This is a safety-sensitive position. A candidate must pass a drug screening as well as have a clean driving record. We offer benefits such as vacation, holiday and sick time; retirement programs; and health, life and disability insurance.
If you’d like to hear more about our opening or just want to submit your resume, please email Assistant Managing Editor/News Glen Chase at [email protected].
