🏆🎖️Cafeteria of the Year🎖️🏆

Last week we had the honor of recognizing our Child Nutrition Staff for their hard work and dedication to serving the students of Cumberland County Schools. The Cafeteria of the Year Award recipients were included in those recognized.

The award for Cafeteria of the Year recognizes and celebrates cafeteria teams that have consistently demonstrated hard work and commitment to providing nutritious meals to students. Their passion for what they do is evident in every meal they prepare, every dish they serve, and every interaction they have with students. They have created a welcoming environment that we can all be proud of.

This year's recipients are:

Elementary - Stedman Elementary School
Middle/High - Cape Fear High School

In recognition of Cumberland County Schools Child Nutrition Program's innovative approach to serving the students of CCS through the Summer Food Service Program, Supervisors Christina Osborne and Charles Bell were presented with the "Going the Distance in Innovation" Award at the most recent Summer Palooza event.

In the Summer of 2023, CCS Child Nutrition Service served nearly 100,000 meals through 135 summer feeding sites, in partnership with 20 community organizations.
