Happy Friday! As the old song goes, it was "root root root for the home team" this week! Some of our PPCA neighbors had a fun time this past Tuesday at the Syracuse Mets. We enjoyed a fun game, good food, lots of smiles, and a few of us even got to meet the mascot, Scooch!
Happy Pride Month! June is an important month for the LGBTQ+ community! While we should celebrate the accomplishments made since the Stonewall uprising, it is also important to keep fighting and advocating for the rights of the people within this community!

We had such a fun time yesterday in Cortland! We got together for a birthday party to celebrate the gift of our friends by playing games like bingo, trivia, and Disney song challenges. And of course, it's not a party without cake and ice cream! So good to see those of you who could make it and spend time visiting together.
Happy Tuesday! Here are some ways you can "fill your cup" because self care is important. Have a great week and enjoy the sunshine!
Shout out to our wonderful SUNY volunteers Kathleen and Yana (not pictured). They shared time during their last semester doing crafts and games with some of our protégés. Check out the adorable clay creations Eva and Kathleen made yesterday. Both volunteers were such a delight to have at PPCA. We know they'll keep shining bright wherever they go!
Happy Friday!
We want to take a moment to recognize our wonderful volunteers and share our appreciation! Without them, we couldn't do what we do. They have helped make our communities brighter places and touched many lives. We are so grateful to have such caring neighbors at PPCA.
Happy Earth Day everyone! Take a second to go outside and enjoy the beautiful sunny day.
Happy Tuesday! Here is a nice quote to start the week. Have a great day everyone!
Happy Friday everyone! Having a support system in life is extremely important for many different reasons. At PPCA we strive to make everyone feel comfortable and make sure everyone has a wonderful support system around them.

Happy Tuesday!
We had a great time with our friends in Onondaga County recently. We met at the Movie Tavern to watch "Luca," and of course, enjoy some popcorn and candy! It was such a fun afternoon hanging out together!
Rachael just joined The PPCA program this quarter! She's actually recently moved here from the state of Wyoming!
Rachael enjoys watching movies, going out to lunch with her friends and cooking. She also loves her dog dearly!
Happy Tuesday!
Micheal is a wonderful long time protege in Onondaga County. His sweet nature and kindness are always enjoyable to have at our events. Micheal attends many gatherings with our friends at PPCA and often brings his lovely mom with him to join in the fun!
Happy Friday everyone! Meet Kilyn! She enjoys going out for coffee with friends, arts and crafts, and working out at the gym. She also loves her little dog Gizmo!
Last Monday, our friends enjoyed a movie night in Cortland! We had a great time at the CNY Living History Center watching an old Disney movie and eating pizza. So good seeing those of you who could make it!
Meet Eva
Eva is a sweet neighbor who loves special projects like knitting and crafts. Last fall, when she spent time with our SUNY volunteers, Eva remarked, "It's like family." Eva is always ready to spend time with friends, and we couldn't be happier to have her at PPCA!
Ann is an Onondaga County protégé that is always willing to lend a helping hand and create a fun atmosphere for all! She loves attending as many events as possible while happily interacting with others and experiencing the activities we plan. Thanks for making PPCA what it is, Ann!
Meet Renee
Renee says that some of the things she enjoys doing most with PPCA are arts and crafts and video chats. When Renee thinks of PPCA, she remembers the relationships and kindness she's experienced, whether that's Annmarie, who "always helped me," or her long-time friendship with a fellow protégé. It's always a joy to see Renee at our events, and we're so glad she's our neighbor!
March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month! We here at PPCA believe in supporting and empowering our neighbors who live with a developmental disability. Together, we join hands to break down any barriers of social isolation by enriching each other's lives with the priceless things of life like joy, friendship, and meaningful memories.

Happy March everyone! The month of March is Women's History Month. This is important to celebrate because throughout history, women have made many influential and positive changes for millions of people and it is important to recognize this.

Person to Person: Citizen Advocacy
The mission of Person to Person: Citizen Advocacy (PPCA) is to promote the protection of and advocacy for people who are devalued, usually due to a mental or physical disability. PPCA programs bring the needs of an individual at risk of social isolation to the attention of a citizen who, with support staff, will respond to those needs through a freely given advocacy relationship.
People with developmental disabilities live in every neighborhood. We are neighbors helping neighbors. Most importantly, the community volunteer advocate is the protégé’s friend who shows and shares the world around them. With support from the Person to Person staff, matches between advocates and persons with developmental disabilities are created to often form long-lasting friendships that can make all the difference in the world to an individual.
