Recon Neurology and Psychiatry is a REMS Certified and Ready to Provide a Treatment Option in Two Subpopulations of Adults With Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).

The medical staff at our certified treatment center are trained to prescribe, dispense, and administer SPRAVATO®, and we have established processes and procedures in accordance with the REMS. A healthcare provider will provide direct medical supervision as the patient self-administers SPRAVATO® and will monitor every patient after every dose for at least two hours for resolution of sedation and dissociation and changes in vital signs.

SPRAVATO® must never be dispensed directly to a patient for home use. Additionally, all patients require transportation from Recon Neurology and Psychiatry following the observation period, as they should not drive or operate machinery until the day after a treatment session, following a restful sleep.

At Recon Neurology and Psychiatry we understand that finding an appropriate treatment option for these patients can be complex. We are committed to partnering with your practice to provide a well-coordinated treatment experience with SPRAVATO® for appropriate adult patients.

To learn more about our treatment center and how we can work together to provide appropriate adult patients with SPRAVATO® please contact us 910-504-3506

Understanding Brainsway Deep TMS Treatment for Depression 03/22/2024

Recon is now offering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, also known as TMS. We are currently using TMS to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) in our clinic.

Its technological apparatus sends out an electromagnetic field with the ability to safely reach brain structures found to take part in the appearance of the targeted condition. By influencing these structures, TMS is able to safely regulate their neural activity, creating a more stable cadence to their activation, thereby facilitating symptom alleviation and contributing to the patient’s well-being.

TMS treatment typically involves a series of 10-to-20-minute sessions over a period of several weeks. As it is noninvasive, TMS does not necessitate the use of anesthesia, nor does it require a lengthy recovery period. Patients are normally able to drive themselves to and from treatment sessions, allowing them to incorporate TMS into their daily schedules.

TMS does not cause any significant, long-lasting, or adverse side effects. Its most common side effect being a localized headache at the site of activation, which typically passes on its own after the first few sessions.

Understanding Brainsway Deep TMS Treatment for Depression Indication:Brainsway Deep TMS is indicated by the FDA for the treatment of depressiveepisodes in adult patients suffering from Major Depressive Disorder, who...
