Cape Fear Valley Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) includes Cumberland County EMS, LifeLink Transport, Cumberland County Community Paramedics, LifeLink Air and Hoke County EMS. The teams combine to respond to over 100,000 calls annually with a team of over 300 EMTs, AEMTs, Paramedics, Nurses, Social Worker, Peer Support and Administrative staff.

Beautiful weather for the Cumberland County EMS Bike Team to bring out the bicycles and complete some training and precise bicycle work. The EMS bike attends events across the county including festivals and road races where ambulances cannot easily access or the event stretches out over long distances. EMS bikes carry a full compliment of BLS and/or ALS equipment to first respond and care for patients until a full ambulance crew or our ambulance ATV can respond to transport.

Cumberland County EMS had a great time hosting Dr Remle Crowe, Dr Joseph Grover and Mike Taigman with the National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP) Quality Improvement Workshop at Cape Fear Valley the last 2 days.

EMS Physician Medical Directors, EMS Physician Fellows, EMS Directors and EMS Quality leaders from all parts of NC learned how to measure and improve the quality of patient care we provide to our patients.

It is rare to find this class away from national conferences so we are thankful for the instructors and participants who made this class engaging, informative and fun.

☑️ Ensure you have a way to keep medications cold or cool.

☑️ For medical devices that require batteries, ensure you have an adequate supply of good charged batteries or a way to charge them if the power goes out.

Get some important heat safety tips from Cumberland County EMS Captain Sarah Bomberry on ABC11 at 4 and 5 today.

Plan your day by doing outside activities early and late in the day and indoor activities during the high heat times. Drink lots or water and take frequent breaks. If you experience a heat emergency, move to a cool environment, if possible and call 911.

Cape Fear Valley MIH provided motorcade support and EMS standby to the Vice President and her supporters during her visit to Fayetteville yesterday. On any given week, Cumberland County EMS provides multiple EMS medical standby or community education/engagement programs/services. Another great mobile outreach event hosted by the Cumberland County Community Paramedics to connect the community and area agencies with resource needs. Today we were joined by Cape Fear Valley Blood Services Blood Mobile.

All blood types are needed at the hospital, but did you know that the blood you donate at Cape Fear Valley might wind up saving lives on 911 Cumberland And Hoke Ambulances or in the helicopters? The 911 system uses low titer whole blood and the flight program carries blood components.

Congratulations to all of the 2024 AAMS Medical Transport Leadership Institute-MTLI graduates including our very own Program Manager, Toby Carter. Toby completed his capstone earning his Certified Medical Transport Executive Endorsement and was also selected as the 2024 “Apex Award” winner which recognizes the executive graduates with the most distinguished capstone project.

Multiple EMS Services from across NC came together today at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for training on Quality Assurance with our ESO software vendor hosted by Cumberland County EMS. In addition to great education, agencies shared best practices and networked on ways to improve EMS response in all our communities.

Join us tomorrow at 2503 Murchison Road for a Mobile Outreach and Shred Truck Event! From 10 am to 2 pm our Mobile Integrated Healthcare team will be offering free health screenings.

We want to congratulate Cody Lauterbach, Flight Paramedic on completing his 50th patient flight and 'Earning His Wings'!!!

He has served patients as a Paramedic, both in the field as well as in the hospital setting. Once he joined the CFV Mobile Integrated Healthcare Team, he set out to progress into Critical Care and Flight Medicine. Having earned his Masters Degree and currently in pursuit of his PhD, he exhibits to new Core Value of the health system - Education.

We are focused on providing exceptional care to every patient, and one way we ensure that is through Continued Medical Education and encouraging others toward their personal and professional goals.

As we wrap up EMS Week 2024, we give thanks to all our teams at Hoke EMS, LifeLINK, Cumberland County EMS and the EMTs, Paramedics and Transport Nurses throughout the health system. During the action-packed week, we also took time to practice our skills, celebrate great works from throughout this year via peer recognition, and present EMS Staff of the Year Awards at our Annual Picnic. To all our partner agencies - EMS colleagues throughout the area and state - HAPPY EMS WEEK; and to the CFV MIH Teams - THANK YOU for all you do for our communities, our patients and the health system.

'Game-changing' tech in Cumberland County allows blood to reach patients in life-threatening situations If you're in a traumatic accident and you need blood, Cumberland County EMS can now bring it to you.

Cumberland County EMS is part of the statewide coalition for emergency response across the state. This weekend, CCEMS was asked to assist with the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point Air Show. We had a great time meeting the community, celebrating our military partners and watching the US Navy Blue Angels perform.
