Day two of staff ride Eddy made his way to some picturesque spots and PM is the answer was rampant on the day. Generals inspecting camps for sanitation and finding those upholding the standard had less sickness and injury… it’s what we have been saying.

Eddy is on adventure this week keeping the CDR and XO company on the 261st MMB Staff Ride. Despite rainy weather the team is exploring the Peninsula Campaign of the Civil War from a medical and logistics stance. They may not have understood Germ Theory but Prev Med is a constant theme we can’t ignore through history.

Work Hard… Play Hard

Story of the Avalanche day. After a great team effort at the Crucible, members of the Avalanche team sported their Army best at the 261st MMB Masquerade Ball. Eddy made his annual appearance as well. SGT Harrington represented the team with honors are he served to prepare the Fallen Soldiers memorial table. SPC Bulanov and PVT De Paz put in a valiant effort during musical scavenger hunt only to be thwarted by no recruiting badges in the team (68S are too busy).

Well done and a great way to start the New Year.

Great job to the Avalanche team this morning in crushing the BN Crucible event. Yetis joined forces with the Sidewinders and Night Owls to come in 2nd in the BN by less then a minute! Great work and a great event put in by 601st.

A little competitive basketball to send the teams into the 1/2 day schedules. Yeti’s and Sidewinders teamed up together to share the court. We def have some secret shooters in the mix! Thanks for the morning workout teams and everyone stay safe.

Avalanche teammates joined the Sidewinders of 172nd PM at Fayetteville Operation Inasmuch this week to serve the community. Turns they are handy behind a food service line not just inspecting it!

Proud of our Soldiers and their commitment to the mission and the community!

Embrace the Impact!

Avalanche Strong! It was a brisk morning but our Yetis endured the 22 degree weather to complete the XVIII Airborne Corps Fit to Fight 4-miles! Well done team with all SMs meeting the standard easily!

Great training week in the DMV area with fellow Dragon Medics. We teamed up with the 1st area medical lab, 172nd and 926th PM Dets for collaborative training on interoperability and equipment familiarization!

Highlight of the trip was a visit to the Smithsonian Annex to get a behind the scenes look at the National Mosquito Collection and some other off exhibit displays. Slides hand written by MAJ Walter Reed and an elephant skull from president Roosevelt definitely top the list!

Warrior skills lane= complete

Avalanche team took on the challenge of running the first BN level lane for the 44th MED BDE. Over a weeks time the team ran over 190 spearhead medics through the challenge!

Way to set the standard Yetis!

The 261st MMB NCO of FY23Q4 is SGT Harrington! After three days of physical and mental competition SGT Harrington emerged victorious.

Next up, NCO of the year!

Wednesday training: radiological survey unit!

Good news: the COF parking lot is free from beta/gamma radiation (not that we thought it wasn’t but always good to confirm) even with the partial FLA sitting in the corner.

Another great day for the Army. SGT Harrington has re-enlisted for another contract. C Team leader, and our self professed runner, he keeps us always moving forward and striving to keep up. The army has retained a great NCO and we are excited to see what he continues to do!

Embrace the Impact!

Foundational Day Obstacle Course. Team came in a very close second in the Commanders Cup race and SPC Bulanov was recognized for his outstanding contribution but SH6.

XO also took one for the team for the ball fundraiser with Pie in the face. Kept his eyes open the whole time, do not recommend, as SGT Harrington so lovingly spread the whipped cream!

Great day learning about HACCP from Public Health Activity Branch Liberty 68Rs. Started with an ice breaker of army phrase Pictionary… then finished at the commissary conducting a joint inspection. Think we will stick to food inspections and not drawing but will say we know each other well so all was not lost!

Talisman Sabre 23 was an amazing experience. The team supported multinational forces across northern Queensland Australia for six weeks! Besides providing comprehensive FHP the team found time to bond with our Australian counterparts and take part in cultural adventures! Can’t wait to go back, but def during their winter!

Indefinite! SFC Delphia re-enlists for the last time and the Army secures an outstanding NCO. LT Gouvea, 155th XO, conducted his first reenlistment ceremony in a professional manner and on a beautiful day. On hand the avalanche team conducted a short run to the Ft Liberty Flag pole to conduct the ceremony and then completed PT!

Embrace the Impact!

It was with great pride that SFC Smith promoted Jack Delphia to the rank of SFC. SFC Delphia, B team leader, along with his wife continues to serve the Army as a quiet professional. An outstanding NCO and great person, Embrace the impact!

Avalanche Soldiers looking sharp at the 261st MMB Winter Ball last December. Thanks to (now) SPC Bulanov for representing the team on the Color guard! A great time shared with our PM teammates in 172nd PM.

What happens when you put the CDR in charge of updating the page and taking photos… you get a years worth of incredible moments in a photo dump on return from TDY! Thank you for the support and we promise to be better about updating moving forward!

Another great Army day. The sun is shinning and the humidity is down as Avalanche Soldiers are doing great work supporting the Expert Field Medic Badge event. PFC Bulanov is building lanes and showing off his knowledge of the warrior skills. SSG Delphia is busy proving he is a top medical SM (without being a medic) as he tackles the challenge of grading the TCCC lane. Both are making us proud! Best of luck to the candidates who start soon!

09/16/2022

It was a fantastic Army day! Congratulations to SGT Mark Webb on his re-enlistment! SGT Webb is an integral part of the team and the Avalanche family is proud as he continues to serve and do great things.

Not just a farewell but a celebration of personal and professional growth for this soldier! CPL LaFrambois has supported the Avalanche Team in so many ways that we hate to see him go. We wish him the best of luck on his next assignment, although we know they are really the lucky ones.

ACFT was a success!! 👌

Photos from 155th Medical Detachment-PM "Avalanche” Family Readiness Group's post 06/14/2022

Definitely a proud moment for our newly promoted CPL LaFrambois!!! This NCO landed in the states off his deployment and went straight to BLC. Not only did he graduate today, but he excelled and graduated on the commandant’s list!! Way to keep the 155th record going!! We are all more than proud of his growth, accomplishments, and definitely for all his contributions to the unit.

06/02/2022

It’s never easy saying Farewell to anyone, especially when they’ve made such an amazing impact on the team. CPT Judd (PCS) and SGT Leija (ETS), we will never forget your achievements and contributions to the avalanche family!! Also…Thank you 172nd Medical Detachment-Preventive Medicine for joining us!
