Here's how you can contribute:

Secure Your Home: Please ensure that windows and doors are locked each night and when you are away.

Stay Alert: Keep an eye out for any unusual activity and report it to us without delay.

🤝 We have the utmost faith in the strength and vigilance of our community. Together, we can continue to keep our neighborhood secure. Your proactive engagement is invaluable to our collective security.

Dear Ferguson Family,

It’s with great excitement that I share with you a significant update from the Ferguson Police Department. On December 1, 2023, our officers will begin a new chapter with the introduction of redesigned uniforms. These uniforms, featuring badges and shoulder patches, are not just about a new look; they embody our deep commitment to serving our community with integrity and professionalism.

The shoulder patches, vibrantly colored in red, white, and blue, are a powerful representation of our great nation. These colors reflect our allegiance to the principles of justice, freedom, and unity that define us as Americans.

We’re encouraged to see an increase in individuals aspiring to join our department. This interest is a positive indicator of the direction we are headed, drawing dedicated individuals who are passionate about contributing to the safety and well-being of Ferguson.

Our new patch includes a train symbol, a nod to Ferguson’s historical roots. This emblem symbolizes our journey from the past and our continuous commitment to moving forward, embracing both our heritage and our future aspirations.

During my first eight months as Chief, I’ve been deeply impressed by the pride and passion of Ferguson’s residents. Your spirit and commitment to our city are the driving forces behind our efforts to evolve and strengthen our community ties.

There’s an old saying, “A leopard can’t change its spots,” often used to suggest that superficial changes don’t equate to real transformation. However, in our case, these new uniforms represent something much more profound than a mere change in appearance. They signify our genuine commitment to progress, transparency, and fostering a stronger connection with the community we serve.

First impressions matter. The way our officers present themselves is crucial in establishing trust. Our new uniforms are part of our pledge to ensure every interaction with the community is positive, respectful, and professional. They are a symbol of our dedication to excellence and our promise to maintain a strong, trusting relationship with the community.

As we don these new uniforms, we do so knowing that there will always be forces attempting to divide us. However, it’s essential that we stay united, recognizing that we all share the same common goal: a safe Ferguson for everyone. Our commitment to this goal is unwavering, and together, we will continue to build a community where safety, respect, and shared values are paramount.

Thank you for your continued support and trust as we work hand in hand towards a stronger, united Ferguson.

With warm regards and a shared vision for our future,

Chief Troy Doyle

Ferguson Community Alert 🚨

Dear Ferguson Residents,

Over the recent weeks, our North County region has been facing a challenging situation. There has been a noticeable increase in car break-ins, particularly targeting our business districts and church parking lots.

However, I am pleased to share some good news amidst these troubling times. Thanks to the diligent efforts of your Ferguson police officers, in the past seven days, we have successfully apprehended four individuals responsible for these crimes. All suspects are juveniles, and notably, we have also recovered a stolen firearm during these operations.

While this is a significant step towards ensuring our community’s safety, I must urge everyone to remain vigilant. Please continue to notify us of any suspicious activities or individuals. Remember, these types of crimes tend to escalate around this time of the year, but together, we can prevent them and maintain the peace and security of our neighborhood.

Let’s unite in our commitment to making Ferguson a safe, enjoyable place to live, work, and play. Your partnership and cooperation with the Ferguson Police Department are invaluable in these efforts.

Stay alert, stay safe, and let’s look out for each other.

Sincerely,

Chief Troy Doyle

🎄✨ Festive Greetings to the Ferguson Community! ✨

The holiday season is a time of joy, family, and celebration. In the spirit of keeping our community safe and happy, we’d like to share some important safety tips:

• Well-Lit Parking: Choose a well-lit spot to park your vehicle. It’s a simple yet effective way to deter potential trouble.

• Light on Luggage: If possible, avoid carrying a purse. Keep essential items in your pockets or a secure, small bag.

• Diverse Routes: Mix up your travel paths to and from home. It makes it harder for anyone with bad intentions to predict your movements.

• Instincts Matter: If something feels off, trust your instincts. Don’t hesitate to ask for a security es**rt to your vehicle.

• Trimmed Bushes: Keep bushes around your home trimmed below window level to remove potential hiding spots.

• Home Lighting: Use timers on home lights to create the appearance of someone being at home, especially at night. It’s a great deterrent.

• Vacation Notification: Planning a holiday trip? Let the Ferguson Police Department know. We can help keep an eye on your home.

• Secure Locks: Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked, including those on higher floors and garages.

• Smart Package Handling: Arrange deliveries when someone is home or use secure pickup points to avoid package theft.

• Community Connection: Stay connected with neighbors. A well-connected community is a safer community.

• Discrete Disposal: Dispose of packaging discreetly, especially for high-value items, to avoid attracting attention.

• Fire Safety Check: Test your smoke detectors and keep a fire extinguisher accessible, particularly with extra holiday cooking and decorations.

Let’s all contribute to making this holiday season safe and enjoyable. Remember, your safety is our priority.

With warm regards,

Chief Troy Doyle Ferguson Police Department

Happy Thanksgiving, Ferguson Community!

Today, as your Chief of Police, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each of you. Thanksgiving is a time of unity and reflection, and I am profoundly thankful for the strong community spirit we have fostered together in Ferguson.

This year has been full of meaningful moments. From our ‘Christmas in July’ event that brought smiles to our children’s faces, to our recent turkey giveaway for families in need, each event has strengthened the bond we share as a community. Our open house was a standout moment, providing an opportunity for us to connect, understand, and build trust with one another.

These initiatives are more than just events; they are a testament to our commitment to unity and mutual support. As your Chief, I promise to continue working tirelessly to ensure Ferguson is a safe, fair, and thriving community. I am inspired every day by your support, resilience, and kindness.

On this day of thanks, let’s remember the values that bring us together. We are more than just residents and officers; we are neighbors, friends, and family. Here’s to continuing our journey towards a stronger, more united Ferguson.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. May your day be filled with love, joy, and the warmth of family and friends.

With gratitude,

Today, the Ferguson Police Department, in conjunction with the Demetrious Johnson Foundation, embarked on a heartfelt mission to deliver Thanksgiving turkeys and fixings to residents in need within our community. It was a day filled with meaningful connections and genuine smiles, a true embodiment of the spirit of giving.

As your Police Chief, witnessing the positive impact these small acts of kindness have on our community fills me with immense pride. Each delivery was more than just food; it was a message of hope, unity, and care from your Ferguson PD. We are more than just law enforcement; we are part of this vibrant community, dedicated to making a difference beyond our call of duty.

This initiative, inspired by the legacy of the late Demetrious Johnson, reminds us all of the power of community support and the importance of looking out for one another. Let’s carry this spirit of thankfulness and giving throughout the year.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially to the dedicated officers who made today possible. Your commitment to serving Ferguson is truly inspiring.

11/17/2023

Dear Ferguson Family,

As your Chief, I am proud to bring a tradition to our community that started during my tenure with the St. Louis County Police Department. Today, with a heart full of gratitude, I’m thrilled to announce the introduction of the annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway to Ferguson, a gesture that embodies our spirit of unity and care.

This initiative holds a special significance for me, especially as we honor the legacy of my late friend, Demetrious Johnson. His commitment to community is a guiding light for us, and I know he would be proud to see this tradition flourish in Ferguson. Our efforts to continue his legacy are a testament to the values he stood for.

A vital part of this initiative’s success lies in the collaboration with our Mayor, City Council, and the Ferguson-Florissant School District. Their invaluable assistance in identifying families in need has been instrumental in ensuring that our efforts reach those who will benefit the most this holiday season.

Our officers, too, are eagerly gearing up to distribute these turkeys. Their participation reflects the commitment of the Ferguson Police Department to engage with and serve our community beyond our traditional roles.

This is more than a meal; it’s a symbol of our shared commitment to each other. As we distribute these turkeys, we reinforce the bonds that make Ferguson a community in the truest sense. As long as I am your Chief, we will continue to work together to keep our city safe and to bring our community closer with acts of kindness like this.

Warmest regards,

Troy Doyle
Police Chief

Please post:

To the dedicated citizens of our community and across the St. Louis region:

The fact that a juvenile can participate in a violent crime and be back on our streets within a day is a clear signal that something in our justice system is not right. This kind of swift turnaround goes against the very grain of the accountability and justice we strive for in our society. It's evident to me, as I'm sure it is to many of you, that there's a deep-seated issue at play here.

Together, as a united front of police and public, it is crucial that we call for and enact changes to the policies that allow for such disheartening outcomes. It is only through our collective voice and effort that we can bring about the necessary adjustments to ensure that those who endanger our well-being receive appropriate repercussions for their actions.

For every single person in our region who has poured their energy and resources into securing their belongings and their piece of the American dream, it is nothing short of a travesty to watch those possessions be jeopardized by acts of violence. The fruits of your perseverance and dedication to a lawful, earned livelihood must be safeguarded. As your Chief, I stand with you.

Chief Doyle

🍂 Hey Ferguson Family! 🚗
As the leaves turn and the air gets nippier, who doesn't crave the comfort of a warm car in the morning? But here's a friendly heads-up: warming up your car in the driveway or on the street might just be the best gift you could give a car thief this fall!

So, let's talk safety, with a sprinkle of humor and a dash of seriousness:

• Rethink the Warm-Up: It might feel nice, but leaving your car running unattended is like putting a "Free Car" sign on it. Let's keep our vehicles colder but safer! ❄️🔐

• Stay Frosty, Stay Secure: Embrace the crisp morning start. Remember, a chilly start is always warmer than the walk home after your car has been taken!

• Keep It Locked: Always lock your car, even if you're just stepping away for a minute. It's the simplest way to tell thieves, "Not today!"

• Light It Up: Park in well-lit areas. Thieves aren't fans of the spotlight, and your car shouldn't be either! 💡

• Community Watch: Let's keep an eye out for each other. If you see something suspicious, say something. We're all in this together! 👀🚔

Remember, your car loves you. Let's love it back by keeping it safe and secure.

Here's to a safe and enjoyable fall! 🍁🚓
