This post is a bit late, but THANK YOU to all of you who volunteered for the Northern Arizona Community Dental Clinic (NACDDC) held on April 5-6 at the NAU School of Dental Hygiene Clinic. It was a big success! We were able to help ~85 people in need from our community. Big thanks to all of the collaborators: Coconino County Office of Health and Human Services, North Country Healthcare, Patterson Dental, TAP AZ. This would not have happened without all of you. We’re grateful to be a part of such a wonderful event and community. Keep an eye out for the next one!

Hello beautiful and loving community! I am already acquainted with many of you, but for everyone else reading this I am Emilia Anderson, the new Executive Director of A New Dawn AZ, here to introduce myself and share with you why I chose to jump on board with this change-making organization.

It is with great excitement that I bring my life experience and professional skills and knowledge to my new role as Director of A New Dawn AZ! The passion I have for helping others learn more about how to improve their quality life and for getting to know the members of my community and for wanting to help leave this world a better place than I found it drove me to jump headfirst into this work with fervor and determination.

My years in the field dentistry revealed to me the gaps and disparities in our social and economic systems that create situations which don’t allow for equitable opportunities for all members of society and our community to access oral healthcare. A New Dawn AZ is helping to bridge the gap while others work behind the scenes to change the system. I am doing this work now because I know what it’s like to not have enough resources and to rely on others for help. I also know what it can do for the individuals and the whole when that help is given and received, or not. Instead of turning away from or pretending not to see those who are in need of help that I am capable of offering, I am choosing to enthusiastically offer my helping hand not only to those who are in a disadvantaged position, but to those who are advantaged and want to help and aren’t sure how. Let’s work together to create a new dawn for oral healthcare our community.

A New Dawn AZ | Community Dental Program serving Northern Arizona 11/29/2021

Everyone deserves access to healthcare; you can help make that true in our community.

The ability to eat, speak, smile, work and socialize free of pain and embarrassment are vital to a healthy and productive life.

Many people don’t have access to necessary oral healthcare resources and recede into the background of society, resigned to a diminished quality of life.

Many people fall through the cracks of a dangerously flawed healthcare system.

Healthcare is a human right and your support is critical to bringing life-changing dental care to our community members. We have helped dozens of adults since 2015 and plan to continue providing this service.

This is where you come in!

Make your AZ Tax Credit donation (designation) by going to http://anewdawnaz.org. Put your tax dollars toward a cause that makes all the difference in someone's life and receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for your donation. Helping has never been easier and is at no cost to you!

Thank you for your gift and your support.

With gratitude,

Alicia, Pearl, Graciela, and Macy
