YESTERDAY We Cancerve Founder Grace Callwood and a small group of scholars from Howard University stuffed 100 Brunch Bags for youth at DC Dream Center and Georgetown University Hospital / Medical Center Pediatrics as part of ongoing efforts to bring happiness to children experiencing homelessness, facing food insecurity, fighting critical illnesses and aging out of foster care. Hats off on a job well done!
Special thanks to our sponsors Hormel Foods and Bimbo Bakeries USA
CONGRATULATIONS WE CANCERVE MOVEMENT FOUNDER Grace Callwood on receiving the 2024 Children's Cancer Foundation Hero Award at their 40th annual gala last night. Your dedication to serving others, specifically vulnerable children, thrust into sad situations that are not of their making, is admirable and honorable. All of us at We Cancerve applaud your sincere, servant leadership and are thrilled to be part of this mission. Thanks for bringing us along to share your special night!
Shop today and tomorrow at Macy's Harford Mall and round up your purchase to help raise money for the We Cancerve Pediatric Patient Assistance Fund. We thank you so very much!
The most amazing area youth support our projects and for that we say: THANK YOU! Special thanks to our new friends with Girl Scout Troop 4202 who collected money and purchased backpacks and book bags for children in Kenya, East Africa. Altogether, they donated a dozen bags for school-aged children there. Shout out also to We Cancerve's own Natalie Deitz and Grace Callwood who donated story books to the drive. The items will soon travel to Africa thanks to your collective compassionate service.
Need to shop for anything in the next few days? Consider Macy's Harford Mall! And round up loose change from your purchase to our fund at Sinai for children fighting cancer.
Another successful event for the books! Shout out to our project leader Nael Lewis-Shakur, 13, for organizing an amazing snack attack stuffing party to ensure children at the Boys and Girls Club/Edgewood Branch, have after school snacks. We stuffed 330 snack bags today! Thanks to the generous donation of the CB Pearls, a local women's group, and Bimbo Bakeries, we are also providing large snack donations to Anna's House for families experiencing homelessness, and to Family Crisis Center in Dundalk, a domestic violence safe house.
Tomorrow is the big day! Join us at the Joppa Library to help us pack snack bags for our friends.
