Pranayama or yogic breathing techniques are powerful practices to heal the body and the mind. Pranayama is good for the digestive system, circulatory system, lymphatic system, nervous system and the endocrine system, and therefore, here are multiple benefits, from addressing blood pressure, digestive issues, to managing stress and anxiety. Brenda(in the picture above) is practicing Anulom-Vilom pranayama, also called Alternate Nostril Breathing, which has a calming effect on the nervous system, relieves anxiety and improves concentration. In the workshop on Wednesday we will discuss the benefits of different pranayama techniques, and practice 2 techniques. We will also practice mindfulness meditation. The combination of the two practices will leave you in a state of deep relaxation and peace.
About the presenter: Tasneem teaches how traditional yoga, pranayama and meditation can promote healing in the mind and body. She also teaches children in schools how to use these techniques for mental well-being. www.BlissYogaCharlotte.com

Marie teaches Qigong classes every Monday at Integra Wellness Center at 6pm. She has many years of teaching experience in diverse settings such as fitness centers, hospitals, wellness and cultural centers, and in private practice. She believes skillfully taught classes that utilize safe and effective teaching methods are supportive to all aspects of health.
Marie is committed to offering her students unique and mindful ways to exercise and manage stress so they can live healthier lives. She enjoys working with people who desire a natural approach to healing that is complementary to traditional or alternative therapies. She leads empowering and revitalizing classes and presents and participates in workshops on various holistic, health-related topics.

Trish will be discussing her healing journey from kidney cancer, and how holding onto subconscious negative beliefs/energy affects our health negatively.
