Parents, we encourage you to ensure that your children are appropriately dressed for the weather. Please be sure that students are wrapped up tight with hats, gloves, scarves and jackets. Any student in need of winter gear should check with their campus counselor.
We are excited to welcome everyone back to school! Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we monitor the weather conditions and work together to keep everyone in Crowley ISD safe.
🚨🚨🚨
⚠️❄️Crowley ISD will be 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗, 𝗧𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔𝗬, 𝗝𝗔𝗡. 𝟭𝟲 due to the National Weather Service issuing a hard freeze warning, wind chill advisory and a hazardous travel warning for our area.
Wind chills are predicted to be below zero on Tuesday morning, and forecasters expect any moisture that melts today will refreeze tonight and could impact travel tomorrow morning.
Out of an abundance of caution and to give families time to plan, all classes are canceled and buildings will be closed Tuesday.
Stay safe and warm, CISD! ❄️⚠️
❄️🧊 Due to the anticipated winter weather over the next few days, we would like to share what we are doing to assure patient and personnel safety, as well as meeting the needs of the community:🧊❄️
• Bags of sand have been placed on all units to be used on icy roadways at scenes of calls.
• Extra blankets have been placed on ambulances.
• Yellow caution tape is located on every apparatus to place on vehicles that may be damaged off the roadway to help limit our dispatch center receiving repeat calls for damaged vehicles.
• The fire station driveways have been pretreated for ice.
• In the event we experience extremely hazardous driving conditions, our apparatus may be responding with no lights or sirens in an effort to avoid any panic on the roadways and people slamming on their brakes. Extended response times should be expected.
• Our fire marshal has visited with numerous schools, apartment complexes, and commercial buildings to help them prepare their fire sprinkler systems for the freezing temperatures.
As always, we are dedicated to serving our community to the best of our ability in a safe and professional manner.
