What a blessing it was to be able to support the award dinner and program for National Caregivers' month. Queen Esther Outreach, Inc. sponsors this program annually. Years ago, I was a keynote speaker at the event and it was a wonderful feeling to be honored. Michael Phillips and I were also award recipients at that same event.

Recently, I was moved to know that an award was given in honor of my mother, Debra K. Smith. My mother was a dedicated nurse and caregiver. However, during the last years of her life, she needed a caregiver.

We were blessed with an awesome caregiver. Ms. Leatrice Tobin unselfishly cared for my parents with great love and attention until their deaths. For that I will always be thankful. During the past two years plus she has grown to be part of our family.

I donated twelve full size Mary Kay Satin Hands sets to this worthwhile cause for the award recipients. The honoree who was given the award named for my mother also received the spa basket. I added pictures to this post because I loved the presentation. I sent a few other gifts that were wrapped in tulle and a purse but I didn't get a chance to get pictures.
As this month comes to and end, I am grateful to celebrate Caregivers.
