Promise Me You'll Sing My Song, created by Adam W. McKinney and The Digibees in collaboration with Bruce Wood Dance, will be featured as part of TO BE MOVED: a short film event at The Columbia Theatre in Longview, WA. The event will take place on Saturday, September 7, at 7:30 PM.
Promise Me You’ll Sing My Song is an homage to Mr. Reuben Johnson, an innocent man who was lynched on December 27, 1874, in Mountain Creek, Texas, USA. Performed by dancer Matthew Roberts near the site of the lynching of Mr. Johnson, Promise Me You’ll Sing My Song invites viewers to wrestle with the history that hides in plain sight.

The event provided a unique opportunity for attendees to interact with Adam and participate in transformative artistic experiences, such as Adam and participants traveling to Duluth's Civic Center and choreographing a work based on what they felt in that space-the monument, the surrounding buildings, and green spaces.
