Last week, we honored our Class of 2024 as they embark on their next phase of their educational journey - high school!
From the first day of school on a new campus, walking field trips to Downtown Frederick and Baker Park, Grandparents Day, spring break excursions in Costa Rica, year-long Capstone projects and everything in between, it's been a tremendous year of academic growth, friendship and fun.
Let's flashback to this adorable video that was shared prior to the ceremony. We wish this special group of students good luck as they officially become Banner alumni. They will no doubt "probe and shed light" in all that they do in high school and beyond.
🎓
Congratulations, Class of 2020!
During our first Class Reunion in four years, this special group of alumni visited our new Dill Avenue campus to share more about their time in high school and their goals for the future. Dr. Ann presented each student with a house colored cord to signify their places in our new house system, (Carroll Crimson, Jefferson Gold, Market Navy, and Dill Emerald.)
We are excited to watch you grow and thrive in college and beyond!
The Banner School students and staff have worked diligently all year, earning points for their houses. We've celebrated the qualities that define our students: Civility, Integrity, Responsibility, Compassion, Leadership, Empathy, and Service. Through friendly competitions, group activities, academic achievements, and participation in school events, house points have been awarded to recognize the unique strengths of each student and how each student's strengths contribute within each house.
We are thrilled to announce that the first annual House Cup winner is The House of Carroll! Congratulations to all the members of Carroll for their outstanding efforts and achievements!
It's been a year in the making. Tasks have been completed. Hard work has been done. The hours have been logged. The points have been tallied. And at long last, a Family Cup winner has been named.
Congratulations to Market House, the first Family Cup winner!
Four mighty Houses. Four newly formed communities of students. All year, our youngest to oldest students have worked together, competing in House activities. They have formed bonds that will stand the test of time. But only one House can win the inaugural Banner House Cup. Will it be Jefferson House? House of Carroll? Market House? or Dill House?
And the noble families that have steadfastly supported our school all year--your hard work and honor has not been in vain. A Family Cup shall be awarded as well, recognizing all the time and efforts put into our school from our families.
Golden Cats, Crimson Cardinals, Navy Ghosts, and Emerald Dragons have competed all year and waited for this moment. All will be revealed tomorrow in the Great Hall...
This year, our Middle School students, guided by their passionate student council, have shown what young hearts can achieve with teamwork and compassion. They’ve crafted over 20 cozy blankets to warm the lives of children in need through Project Linus.
As the 8th grade met with the Project Linus: Frederick Co, Maryland representative to hand over the gifts, their faces were lit with the joy of giving. It’s not just blankets they’re sharing, but a wrap of hope, comfort, and love. 💖
This is more than a school project; it’s a life lesson in kindness and community service. Our students are not just preparing for academic success but also learning to be the leaders and changemakers of tomorrow.
Swipe to see the smiles, the teamwork, and the beautiful blankets that will surely bring warmth to many! 📸✨

Congratulations to the 8th grade class for completing their capstone projects! The capstone is a yearlong research project conducted by each student on a subject of their choice. They conducted initial research, interviewed experts, wrote a research paper and annotated bibliography, conducted a service-learning activity related to their topic, and presented their findings to the school community. This year, our students chose to study deforestation in Frederick, climate change in Maryland, cat shelters and the community finding forever homes for cats, gaming addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder in veterans, depression in youth, investing in Bitcoin, and earthquake prediction.
We are so impressed with their hard work and the many ways in which they have engaged themselves with their projects!
