Historic Cressman's General Store and Gas Station burned to the ground during the Big Creek Fire. Many other businesses and homes were destroyed as well. Proceeds from the prints of Pat Hunter's original watercolor painting of Cressman's will be donated to benefit those most impacted by these losses. Shaver Lake Lyons Club will distribute funds as they determine the needs.

Join Pat Hunter and Janice Stevens as they introduce you to the early years of William Saroyan, literary great and Fresno’s native son.
Through multimedia visuals and original art, Janice and Pat will view Saroyan’s childhood home and the school where he spent his early years. Hear his words and thoughts from his many books and short stories about growing up Armenian in the Central Valley. For those who knew Saroyan, share your reminiscences of this eccentric but gifted writer. Gain a deeper appreciation of the significance of William Saroyan and his Armenian heritage in the Central Valley.

LINEUP OF WRITERS ANNOUNCED FOR CELEBRATION OF CAMBRIA AUTHORS
The lineup of authors on hand for the third annual Celebration of Cambria Authors has been announced. The event is set for 1 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at the Cambria Veterans Memorial Building, 1000 Main St. at Cambria Drive.
The authors will be signing and selling their books at the event.
Pat Hunter and Janice M. Stevens (pictured) are the keynote speakers for the event, which is sponsored by the Cambria Historical Society and Friends of the Cambria Library. It's being organized by Penny Church of the CHS.
Artist Hunter and author Stevens, co-own Gallery II - Fresno. Hunter’s watercolor depictions of historical landmarks have appeared alongside Stevens’ narrative in a series of books. Their “Remembering the California Missions” was awarded the Native Daughters Image Award in 2010. Their series of three books “An Artist and a Writer Travel Highway 1” (North, Central and South) takes readers down California’s scenic coast highway.
Other authors scheduled to appear include author Linda Hickman Seed, author of contemporary romances set in Cambria who recently relocated to the town; last year's keynote speaker, Cambria Village News founder Stephen H. Provost (author of historical nonfiction and fantasy/science fiction adventures); paranormal adventure novelist Samaire Provost; award-winning young adult fantasy/paranormal romance Author Jenna Elizabeth Johnson;
romantic suspense novelist Rebecca Buckley of Pewter Plough Playhouse fame; mystery writer Sue McGinty of Los Osos; and CVN contributor Christine Heinrichs of Cambria, author of several books on poultry.
