FYI! 📣📣📣: Out of an abundance of caution for our campus community, we will close campus, Monday, August 21, 2023, due to Tropical Storm Hilary. All classes, including in-person and online, will be cancelled August 21, 2023.

We are so excited to announce the launch of the new Legal Advocacy Fellowship! This is a paid opportunity sponsored by and is open to students who have a passion for immigration issues and serving the Undocu community.
Interested applicants will gain valuable hands-on experience in legal advocacy while working closely with CARECEN's dedicated legal team!
The selected fellow will do the following...
🦋 Participate in 1-2 monthly meetings with a campus mentor.
🦋 Submit weekly progress reports to CARECEN's Legal Team.
🦋 Support the development and implementation of core programming and marketing initiatives for the Grads to Be Program.
🦋 Complete a final project related to making legal services more accessible to immigrant students and their families.

USCIS has changed its DACA filing fee requirement!!
Effective immediately, when renewing your DACA, you must now submit a payment per application. In this case, if you are applying to renew your DACA you need to submit TWO separate payments instead of one payment.
One payment would be for $85 for Form I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and the the other payment would be $410 for the work permit, Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.
