Who is getting excited about our 40th Reunion this year - Friday & Saturday, 7/26 - 7/27?

So I managed to locate our 80-81 Hurricane yearbook and pulled out some great photos to share. Looking through the yearbook I was amazed just how many clubs and groups we had in HS. Literally 31 groups you could join. I also realize it was an amazing time back in the early 80’s and forever grateful for all the good times and friends…… more to come as I grab the ‘82, ‘83, and ‘84 yearbooks but enjoy these memories 🤙 and Go Canes!!!

Hello GHS Class of 1984,

It is with great excitement that we announce the date and venue for our 40th High School Reunion. We have selected July 27, 2024, from 7:00pm to midnight at the at the Historic Thomas Center located at 302 NE 6th Avenue in Gainesville Florida. The event will feature music entertainment, heavy Hors D’oeuvres, and an open bar for beer/wine only but will arrange a cash bar for liquor drinks. The Historic Thomas Center is an amazing facility built in 1906 by the Thomas family where they resided for more than 15 years. This Mediterranean Revival-style hotel with Italian Renaissance decorative motifs was opened to the public in 1928 as the Thomas Center Hotel. In addition to our 40th High School Reunion event on Saturday night July 27th we also have secure blocks of rooms for your accommodations at the AC Hotel in Downtown Gainesville located at 151 NW 14th Street Gainesville Florida. There will be a meet and greet there on Friday July 26, 2024, starting at 6:00pm for all those that are in town that night to attend. Rooms will fill up fast so please make your hotel arrangements right away.
