Greetings, friends. POPB would love to spring this dude out of the shelter. The problem, as it has been for a long while now, is the absence of foster homes for our dogs. This dog would be ideal for a veterinary student, vet tech, human nurse or budding pet nurse talent. All he really needs is a quiet home environment to continue his healing. Are you up to the task? Send us an e-mail at [email protected]🐾
From her foster mom:
Sweetie is probably the sweetest dog to every single human she meets... hence the name. She can't say the same for little critters in the yard, they are always subject to her full speed wrath if they're in her yard. She may not be very food motivated, but she LOVES her stuffy, give her a new one and she won't go anywhere without it until it's ripped to shreds. Not only will the stuffy not go anywhere without her, but neither will the human she's attached to because she will follow you everywhere you go with never ending loyalty. You will not sit down without her in your business. She also asks you to please not leave her at home, because she will wait (mostly patiently) at the door for you to come home.
Check out our POPB alum, Pete!

Hello, all. Meet Teddy. Teddy is not a POPB dog. His owner Dan is trying to re-home with a 10 day deadline. Apparently Teddy has fairly recently developed animosity towards the other boy dog in the house and keeping the dogs separated has proven not foolproof. Contact Dan directly if you would like to meet...

Hello, this email is to let someone out there know about a great opportunity to have in even better friend in their lives. Teddy is a four-year-old fully vetted, neutered male dog. Unfortunately, he does not like our other male dog and fights with him often. Teddy has to live in a different room than our other male dog and needs a home that can give him more space. Attached is a photo of Teddy. It is with a very heavy heart that I post this because, I will miss him very much but know that there is a home out there that can give him everything he needs. He is very, very loving and good with kids, but it has to get to know you, which is not hard to do if you’re willing to give him some treats! Please call my cell phone at 352-664-0567 or email [email protected] if you are interested in meeting him!

I work at Whitehouse Animal Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. About two months ago, I found a dog outside a dollar store next to our office. According to the employees, he had been there for multiple days and trying to follow everyone inside. He jumped into my backseat when I was leaving and laid down, so I brought him back to the office. He had no microchip we could find. Animal care and protective services stated they were too full and could not take him. I posted him wherever I could think of, and made flyers to put up around gas stations and businesses in the area.
After two weeks, I vaccinated him and tested him. He needed to be dewormed for whipworms (which is complete and he is now negative) and he was heartworm positive, as well.
He has finished his first round of doxy and pred and had two months of Heartgard already.
I have been told that he cannot stay in office indefinitely and that he will be my responsibility. I, unfortunately, live with my parents (and their 7 small dogs and 6 cats) due to my own health issues and have been moved to more administrative work because I cannot handle a lot of the physical work anymore. I do have the immiticide treatment I can relinquish to whomever takes him (and the last 10 doses of Heartgard) , but I cannot do the leash walking to keep him quiet once he starts the injections.

Dough is around 5 yrs old and 56 lbs. Already neutered when found. The heart-worm treatment is sponsored. He will need a quiet spot to recover. Has shown some reactivity at the clinic, but then again kennels are not the best places to assess a dog. If you feel inclined to help please contact Kimberly directly at: Kimberly Juchniewicz

A hail Mary on Thursday for Zula from Greenville, SC. A plight from a good Samaritan who is trying her best to keep this dog alive. The owner (kin to good Sam) has been hospitalized for substance abuse, in bad shape. Unlikely to recover. Zula is around 7 yrs old, just updated on vaccinations. Good with dogs, cats and kiddos. Zula ended up at the Greenville shelter, was scared and not doing well, so scheduled for euthanasia.
The good Sam is able to hold for a few days. Having a hard time convincing her parents (she is their caretaker) that Zula poses no thread housed in the guest cottage. If you or somebody you know is willing to foster Zula email us at [email protected], attn: Zula.
Good Samaritan is calling local veterinary clinics to inquire about euthanasia services. We are hoping to avoid this fate! Thanks in advance for your support.🐾🥰
