One of the easiest reads and packed with good info. Highly recommend whether you're a coach or just a gym enthusiast
I've never really expressed how much I actually like doing this "job." Like every other job sometimes it feels like work but then you get an opportunity to do something like the intro class we did last Saturday. Its crazy I get paid to hang out and talk to people about working out. Don't want to get to long winded but just want to say I'm lucky to have a job I don't wake up and hate going to.
Thanks to and for providing a great space and environment to train myself and others in
Thanks to all of my clients and the others I can't tag for keeping my bills paid and belly full. Shout to Camila for the pictures
Make sure you follow .barbell to stay up-to-date on the classes and seminars and all the other stuff we have coming up!

Client spotlight: Alexia
Alexia recently graduated with her bachelor's from UF and will be pursuing a Master's in health education and behavior. Alexia was an athlete her whole life and is naturally pretty strong (swipe to see her fly through some deadlifts). Unfortunately her athletic career also left her with some shoulder injuries. We are still able to go heavy for the lower body lifts (squat and deadlift). Her upper body movements (bench and press) we are using dumbbells as an alternative and are still able to make good progress. She has been awesome to work with and I look forward to seeing her progress continue.
My literal rockstar of a client James Bowman. He is the guitar player for Against Me! and my longest personal training client. Before the 'rona hit James would work with me when he wasn't on tour. Which required us doing resets every few months cause he would go on tour for a couple months at a time. After the pandemic started we were making our best progress. Then we had a back injury. Took him out of the gym about a month. When an injury like this happens the physical part is actually the easier thing to take care of cause it does eventually stop hurting. What I have had to do for myself in the past and now James is build his confidence back up. It's tough after a back tweak to want to go heavy on Deadlifts so what we did was do one day on full deadlifts and another day we do light Romanian deadlifts (swipe to see). This helps in a couple of ways. 1. He is going lighter so nothing to worry about. 2. It helps focus on the technique part of the lift to get better at the technique itself but also build confidence that his back can handle some weight again. He has been gaining strength again for a couple months and we will be back where he's in no time. He's super excited about it in the picture but smiling is just not punk rock.
James also builds his own pedals and is always taking orders. Check his products out over
Ballatore Training
Client spotlight: this is my guy Lior. He came in with no lifting experience. Lior was a pro-gamer and then coach for the game Smite before he even graduated high school. His first workout he had trouble controlling his low back. He has worked really hard and made steady progress. His technique has made crazy progress and the weights are moving up.
Old friend, new client. I've known Justin for years finally got him to come see me last week. Justin was a high school athlete and maintained good lifting habits after that until his priorities shifted outside of the gym when he started and family and a new career. He bring a lot of good discipline and technique from his previous experiences. I look forward to seeing him not only regain the strength level he once had but surpass it as we work together.
Not only is Justin a client of mine but I am also a new client of his. He is a financial planner with Northwest mutual. Just like in the gym if you want to have any success in making gains you need a plan. Justin will work with you and set a plan to help you achieve any financial goal that you have wether that is saving for a big purchase or setting up your future with retirement planning.
