UTMB Named Fulbright HSI Leader by U.S. Department of State The University of Texas Medical Branch has been named as a Fulbright Hispanic-Serving Institution Leader for 2023.

UTMB medical students, you are invited to the inaugural WE Summit on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from noon to 3:00pm at the HEC 1.200. We are excited to provide an amazing opportunity to all medical students to highlight their research accomplishments and to engage and network with research faculty. We encourage all underrepresented in medicine and first-generation medical students to attend! League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)

To increase our presence in the Hispanic community in Galveston, the Sealy Center on Aging, the UTMB Pepper Center Hispanic Aging Council, and Frontera de Salud have registered to have a stand in the LULAC Council 151 Día de los Mu***os Fall Festival on October 30th, 2021. The event will take place in the Old Galveston Courthouse located on 722 Moody Ave (21st Street) Galveston, TX 77550. We will share research studies that are currently recruiting participants and do some education activities. The event will take place in Galveston from noon to 8:30pm. We need volunteers to share information with community members. Please contact Rafael Samper-Ternent ([email protected]) with your name and available times if you want to volunteer and help.
