Boredom eating, also known as emotional eating, is the habit of consuming food as a way to cope with boredom, stress, or other emotions rather than due to hunger. This behavior can lead to overeating and unhealthy food choices. It often arises from a desire for comfort or distraction, and can be a form of self-soothing. To manage boredom eating, finding alternative activities like exercise, hobbies, or mindfulness techniques can be helpful in addressing the underlying emotional triggers.

Boredom eating can have negative impacts on one's health. When individuals turn to food out of boredom rather than genuine hunger, they may consume excess calories and make poor nutritional choices. This can contribute to weight gain, obesity, and related health issues such as diabetes, cardiovascular problems, and high blood pressure.

Moreover, boredom eating often involves consuming unhealthy snacks or comfort foods high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats. These choices can lead to a cycle of temporary relief followed by feelings of guilt or regret, potentially affecting mental well-being.

To promote better health, it's important to recognize and address boredom eating patterns. Developing strategies such as mindful eating, engaging in physical activity, pursuing hobbies, or finding other ways to manage emotions can help break the cycle of unhealthy eating habits driven by boredom. Call today for a one on one individualized session to help you reach your goals!

Global health products, including protein supplements, play a vital role in supporting people's overall well-being and fitness goals worldwide. Protein supplements are widely used by individuals seeking to enhance their physical performance, muscle growth, and recovery after intense workouts.

These supplements come in various forms, such as protein powders, bars, shakes, and capsules, catering to different preferences and dietary needs. They are often derived from sources like whey, casein, soy, pea, h**p, and rice, offering a diverse range of options for consumers with specific dietary restrictions or preferences.

Protein supplements are known for their convenience and ability to deliver a concentrated dose of protein, which is essential for muscle repair and growth. Athletes, bodybuilders, and fitness enthusiasts frequently incorporate them into their daily routines to help meet their protein requirements and optimize their performance.

Moreover, protein supplements have gained popularity among people striving to maintain a healthy lifestyle, as they can be beneficial for weight management, satiety, and muscle preservation during weight loss efforts.

However, it is essential to use these products responsibly and in conjunction with a balanced diet to ensure they complement rather than replace whole food sources. Consulting with a healthcare professional or a nutritionist is recommended to determine individual protein needs and identify the most suitable supplement options.

As global health awareness continues to grow, protein supplements are likely to remain a significant component of the wellness industry, contributing to better physical performance, fitness, and overall health for people across the globe.

Achieving lasting, life-long results often requires more than just a 30-day challenge. While such challenges can jumpstart positive changes and build momentum, they may not address the fundamental shifts and habits needed for sustained success. True transformation involves consistent effort, patience, and a commitment to making gradual, sustainable changes over time.

Quick-fix challenges might lead to temporary improvements, but they can fall short in several ways. First, they may promote an "all or nothing" mentality, where participants focus solely on short-term goals without considering the long-term implications. This can lead to burnout or a return to old habits once the challenge is over.

Moreover, long-lasting results require a deeper understanding of one's motivations, behaviors, and triggers. Simply completing a 30-day challenge doesn't necessarily address the underlying factors that contributed to the initial need for change. Sustainable change involves introspection, learning, and adjusting behaviors in a way that aligns with individual values and goals.

Building new habits and skills takes time. Research suggests that it typically takes more than two months for a behavior to become automatic, and some experts propose that it can take up to 254 days to establish a new habit. This reinforces the idea that true transformation requires an ongoing commitment beyond the confines of a 30-day timeframe.

In essence, while 30-day challenges can be a valuable starting point, they are just that – a start. To achieve life-long results, it's important to view these challenges as stepping stones toward a larger, sustainable journey of personal growth and improvement. This journey involves consistency, adaptability, self-awareness, and a willingness to embrace setbacks as opportunities for learning and refinement.

Munk Pack bars are an excellent option for snacking, especially for individuals managing PCOS, diabetes, and weight loss. These bars are thoughtfully crafted with wholesome ingredients, often incorporating nuts, seeds, and natural sweeteners like dates. They offer a balanced combination of healthy fats, fiber, and protein, which can help stabilize blood sugar levels and provide sustained energy, making them suitable for those with diabetes.

For individuals with PCOS, Munk Pack bars offer a convenient snack that avoids refined sugars and overly processed ingredients. The bars' nutrient-dense composition can aid in managing hormonal imbalances often associated with PCOS.

Furthermore, Munk Pack bars can be beneficial for weight loss due to their satisfying nature. The combination of fiber and protein can help curb cravings and promote feelings of fullness, potentially assisting in portion control and overall calorie intake.

It's important to note that while Munk Pack bars can be a valuable addition to a balanced diet, consulting a healthcare professional or registered dietitian is crucial to tailor dietary choices to individual needs. Monitoring carbohydrate intake is especially important for diabetes management, and personalized guidance can ensure the best approach for incorporating these bars into a health-focused eating plan.

Dehydration occurs when the body loses more fluids than it takes in, leading to an inadequate amount of water to function properly. It can result from various factors such as excessive sweating, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or insufficient fluid intake. Dehydration can be mild, moderate, or severe, and if left untreated, it can lead to serious health complications.

A nutritional approach to prevent dehydration involves ensuring adequate fluid intake and consuming foods that are rich in water content and electrolytes. Here are some strategies to prevent dehydration through nutrition:

1. Drink Plenty of Water: The most fundamental step in preventing dehydration is to maintain adequate water intake. The general recommendation is to drink at least 8 glasses (around 2 liters) of water per day, but individual needs may vary based on factors like age, activity level, and climate.

2. Consume Hydrating Foods: Incorporate fruits and vegetables with high water content into your diet. Cucumber, watermelon, oranges, strawberries, celery, and lettuce are excellent choices. These foods not only provide hydration but also supply essential vitamins and minerals.

3. Opt for Electrolyte-Rich Beverages: Electrolytes, such as sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, play a vital role in maintaining the body's fluid balance. Consuming electrolyte-rich beverages like sports drinks can help replenish lost electrolytes during strenuous activities or in hot weather.

4. Limit Dehydrating Substances: Avoid excessive consumption of alcohol and caffeinated beverages, as they can contribute to dehydration.

5. Hydrate Before, During, and After Exercise: When engaging in physical activities, drink water before, during, and after your workout to maintain hydration levels.

Remember that individual hydration needs vary, so it's essential to listen to your body and drink fluids regularly throughout the day. By adopting a balanced nutritional approach and being mindful of your fluid intake, you can help prevent dehydration and support your body's optimal functioning. Always consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice, especially if you have specific health conditions or concerns.

Plant-based Zing bars offer a multitude of benefits for both individuals and the environment. Here are some key advantages:

1. Nutrient-rich: Plant-based Zing bars are typically made with wholesome ingredients like nuts, seeds, whole grains, and dried fruits. These ingredients are rich in essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants, promoting overall health and well-being.

2. Heart-healthy: Many plant-based ingredients used in Zing bars, such as almonds and chia seeds, are known for their heart-healthy properties. They can help lower cholesterol levels, reduce the risk of heart disease, and support cardiovascular health.

3. Sustainable and eco-friendly: Choosing plant-based Zing bars reduces the demand for animal-derived ingredients, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly food system. It helps conserve resources, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and minimizes the environmental impact associated with animal agriculture.

4. Digestive health: The fiber content in plant-based Zing bars supports digestive health by promoting regular bowel movements and a healthy gut microbiome. This can lead to better digestion and reduced risk of gastrointestinal issues.

5. Weight management: Plant-based Zing bars often have lower calorie density and are less likely to contain unhealthy saturated fats, making them a great option for those looking to manage their weight while still enjoying a tasty and satisfying snack.

6. Sustained energy: With a balanced combination of carbohydrates, healthy fats, and protein, plant-based Zing bars can provide a steady and sustained source of energy, making them ideal for on-the-go snacks or pre/post-workout fuel.

7. Improved blood sugar management: Some plant-based ingredients, like nuts and seeds, have been associated with better blood sugar control, making these bars suitable for individuals with diabetes or those aiming to stabilize their blood sugar levels.

When it comes to losing weight, your body can indeed be your greatest ally. Here's how it supports your efforts:

1. Metabolism: Your body regulates its metabolic rate to maintain energy balance. When you reduce calorie intake, it adjusts by burning stored fat for energy, helping you shed pounds.

2. Muscle Support: As you engage in physical activity and exercise, your body builds and maintains muscle mass. This is crucial for weight loss because muscles burn more calories than fat, even at rest.

3. Hunger Signals: Your body sends hunger signals to ensure you consume enough nutrients. When trying to lose weight, understanding these signals can help you make healthier food choices and control portions.

4. Adaptability: Your body can adapt to new routines and lifestyle changes. As you develop healthier habits, your body adjusts, making it easier to sustain weight loss in the long run.

5. Energy Management: While losing weight, your body prioritizes energy allocation to essential functions. This means that as you reduce caloric intake, it becomes more efficient at using energy, helping you stay energized throughout the day.

6. Hormonal Balance: Hormones play a significant role in regulating appetite and metabolism. By maintaining a balanced diet and lifestyle, you can support healthy hormone levels, which aid in weight loss.

7. Psychological Factors: Your body responds to your mindset and emotional well-being. Positive thinking, self-compassion, and stress management can all contribute to successful weight loss.

Remember, achieving weight loss goals is a collaborative effort between your body, mind, and lifestyle choices. By respecting your body's natural mechanisms and nurturing it with healthy practices, you can work together as a team to reach your desired weight.

Every form of addiction is bad, no matter whether the narcotic be alcohol, morphine, or sugar.

08/20/2022

As a nation, who are we? What do we want to be?

Without running the entire gamut of moral and ethical universal in healthcare, we believe much of the argument can be distilled into a quote given 40 years…

"It was once said that the moral test of Government is how that Government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped."

Vice President Humphrey (MedicareForAll (accredited source))

Unsurprisingly, the seismic upheavals brought by COVID-19 spurred an increase in the number of food-insecure households in America.

Importantly, children are especially vulnerable to the effects of food insecurity. Research has strongly suggested that even mild food insecurity significantly affects their development, increasing their risk of developmental delays, cognitive impairment, unhealthy weight, poor grades, and impaired social skills.

The shift to remote learning in many districts was correlated with an increase in food insecurity in children who relied on getting free or reduced-price meals at school.

It’s important to remember that economic recovery from the pandemic does not mean food insecurity in the U.S. will end.

In addition to the nation’s non-profit and charitable efforts to address food insecurity, a variety of sources are available, aimed at remedying food insecurity in America while improving health.

Our compromised society consist of healthy food as “expensive”, hidden in the supermarkets.

Some companies and Fad diet programs take advantage by providing products/services that are not readily readily available, overpriced, and may further compromised the health status. It’s unethical when the vulnerable population’s health becomes someone else’s profitable business.

While many food insecurities, mistrust, lack of knowledge between food and disease, and biased conception of many food items exist among most populations- it’s important that these factors are taken into consideration when attempting to resolve these problems. Registered dietitians provide a genuine approach that becomes part of the solution to the systematic issues faced today.

While everyone may suffer the consequences of these issues, Medicare and Medicaid populations are effected the most.

How do dietitians play a role that would benefit our most vulnerable population?

Visiting a dietitian will not only guide you in the right direction of what to eat, they can also provide you with samples of food items that promote health and wellness.

Its so important to understand that dietitians alone are not the only ones whom are unfortunately the uncredited part of the solution. We must give credit to all the reputable food industry companies whom provide quality foods, some at reasonable prices and and some for free, allowing us to provide them to these populations risk-free. Who benefits? The most vulnerable populations. When these populations benefit, all providers, food industry companies, and health insurances alike will continue to compromise in effort to bring positive outcomes not just to these vulnerable populations but also to the systemic issues in our society as a whole.

The first step in any journey – including your journey to better health – starts with a clear vision of the end in mind. How or where do you want to be and when? Hanukkah, known as the "Festival of Lights," celebrates miracles and freedom. It is a beautiful opportunity to open up one's house and heart and spread some joy.

Miraculously, the oil burned for eight days. In faiths throughout the world, there’s power in the metaphor, the imagery, of light.

It celebrates the miracle of people looking after one another and doing what is right. Candles representing each day are not higher than one another, rituals to remind us that there’s danger when we lift one group over another, and there’s hope and beauty when we connect to one another as equals.

Symbols beyond the traditional foods with latkes and gifts for eight nights, are meant to remind us of our values in good faith. “If you just talk it and don’t have any symbols that really grab you in a different way, then it won’t be something as meaningful.”

Therefore, never be afraid to stand up for what’s right. In the end, everything happens for the better good.

A little light goes a long way. Setting your own goals, whether it is helping a friend or even yourself, can have a tremendous impact in reaching you goals. Never give up.

Don't be ashamed to perform good deeds, even if you will feel different. It’s important for others to see, as what they see is learned and eventually passed along in some other form, making the world a better place.

Be safe. Take care of your health from within. Happy Hanukkah.

Heroic. Honorable. Selfless. Brave. Courageous. Remembered. LOVED.

Honoring ALL who served to protect us. No words are ever enough to show our gratitude

Services for veterans and their families are the upmost importance in providing support to those who fought for us.

Veterans’ risk of lower diet quality is driven primarily by their consumption of empty calories from added sugars and solid fats. Added sugars include cane and beet sugar, syrups, and other caloric sweeteners, but not naturally occurring sugars such as those in fruits and milk. Solid fats are the fats found in meats, poultry, dairy products, hydrogenated vegetable oils, and some tropical oils.

We don’t advocate fad diets or unhealthy eating practices. We are not here to tell you how or what to eat. Rather, our goal is to share facts about nutrition and give you new ways to make sure you’re taking care of your body.

Without sufficient income, is it's difficult to live a healthy lifestyle??

The skyrocketing costs of nutritious foods, quality health care and quality of life are consistent themes in today's society, which should have sent every one packing the polls.

With that said, many people are still having a very tough time out there, and if we think that preventive care, such as daily exercise, healthy eating and maintenance doctor visits, is expensive, then let's consider the cost of doing nothing, or worse, of disability or disease.

Undoubtedly, eating healthfully can be a chore. It calls for planning and preparation, and can also pinch your pocketbook. But have you ever considered the true cost of a heart attack, which remains the number one cause of death for both men and women in the U.S.?

In addition to eating in a healthier way, we can all minimize or eliminate our risk of heart disease by reducing other risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, to***co use and lack of exercise.
When it comes to improved health, exercise alone provides exponential benefits, including improved control of blood sugar, decreased blood pressure, increased HDL (good cholesterol), decreased triglycerides (fat) and a stronger heart. And that's just for starters.

I’ve seen this quote bouncing around social media lately, and I absolutely love it because it’s so darn true: If you think wellness is expensive, try illness.

So, what’s your health worth to you? Neglecting it could cost you everything… via .app
