Compass provides educational opportunities and services designed to empower and engage our youth through quality socioeconomic & community-based programs.
Our Story
With each passing day, educational resources and funding for our youth is being greatly reduced and in some cases—totally eliminated within our public school systems. Much needed after school tutorials and other extracurricular/academic initiatives are being threatened as a result of federal, state and local budget constraints. We recently visited Monarch Academy to see a fashion show held by Basketbotz students. On the way, this positivity board caught our eye! The event showcased students using STEM, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills to create and execute their business plan!
With this spotlight, Compass Youth Center wants to bring attention to the CEO of Zyrobotics, Johnetta MacCalla. After years of executive roles, MacCalla created Zyrobotics to help make STEM education accessible to young children from all backgrounds. MacCalla's innovative track inspires us at Compass Youth Center to continue working to bring STEM education, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship to underrepresented students.
