The members of the Nester Hose Company #1 are thrilled to announce the promotion of Lieutenant Dan Gallagher to the position of Assistant Chief.

AC Gallagher has dedicated an incredible 45 years of service as a volunteer at the Nester Hose Company, demonstrating constant commitment and passion for firefighting and serving the community of Geneva. In addition to to his volunteer work, AC Gallagher has served as a Federal Firefighter at the Seneca Army Depot and rising to the rank of Captain at the Canandaigua Veterans Affairs Fire Department.

His dedication, leadership, and expertise have been invaluable assets to our community and beyond. Join us in congratulating AC Gallagher on his outstanding achievement and thanking him for his incredible service and commitment.

On July 17th, 2024, Geneva, NY lost one of their dedicated servants from our community. Assistant Chief Kevin Powers, having served 70 years with Nester Hose Company, passed away and will be remembered for his leadership, commitment to his community, his passion for being a true servant and ensuring the safety of all. His dedication and passion for firefighting continues to inspire many, both young and old.

Chief Powers name can be heard in many stories, where it was common for him to ask how your family was doing, and was always there to listen and offer advice if needed. If you were lucky enough to know Chief Powers, you know the pride he took in his work and the residents of Geneva. He will greatly be missed.

Please keep his family, friends, the Nester Hose Fire Department, and our community in your prayers as we mourn his loss. Thank you, Chief Powers, for your many decades of dedication. Rest in Peace 1101.

Calling hours will be at Devaney-Bennett Funeral Home Monday July 22nd from 4-7. Nester Hose will meet at the Funeral home at 6:00pm. Funeral will be Tuesday July 23rd at 1:00pm at St. Stephens Church. Uniformed Members are asked to meet at Devaney Funeral Home at 12:15 for final walk through and procession to the church.

It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to a true hero and dedicated servant of our community, Assistant Chief Kevin Powers. With an incredible legacy of service spanning an impressive 70 years with the Nester Hose Company, 61 of those years as our esteemed Assistant Chief, Kevin leaves behind a profound impact that will be remembered for generations to come.

Through his unwavering dedication, leadership, and selflessness, Kevin embodied the true spirit of a firefighter, always putting the safety and well-being of others above all else. His commitment to excellence and his passion for serving others set an extraordinary example for all of us to follow.

As we mourn the loss of a remarkable individual, let us also celebrate the incredible life and legacy of Assistant Chief Kevin Powers. His impact on our community will never be forgotten, and his memory will continue to inspire us all.

Rest in peace, Assistant Chief Powers. Thank you for your decades of service, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on forever in our hearts.

On February 15,1997, Timothy Warren III died in the line of duty. Tonight, all fire departments will pay tribute and honor T-3 in remembrance of the 25th anniversary of losing our brother. Information to pay tribute is as follows:

6:15 meet at the firehouse and will do a drive -by at the Sill House on South Main St.

We then will head to the Living Center North around 6:45pm to see Mrs. Warren in memory of T-3.
