It's our 4K friends last day of school today! They had a fun week of all kinds of exciting activities to celebrate all the hard work they did this year! Pictured are water game playing (including sponge toss, drip drip drop and ball tag) and scooter fun!! ๐๐๐ We can't wait to see you again next year, future kindergarteners!!
This morning during our staff meeting, we took time to recognize some fabulous members of our team! โจ We wouldnโt be the school we are without them and couldnโt be more thankful for their MANY contributions over the years. ๐ ๐

Authors, scientists, athletes, world leaders, and entertainers galore! Our 3rd graders synthesized much of their learning this school year by completing a comprehensive biography unit, which integrated reading and writing skills. They read, took notes, and wrote a speech about famous people. They then presented their information to family and friends during our living wax museum. Applause all around! ๐๐๐ Way to go scholars!
Our 3rd graders visited Schlitz Audobon and Doctor's Park a couple weeks ago. Outdoor fun all around, and a wonderful extension to the scholars' land and water science unit!
Our 4th grade scholars had a wonderful time exploring Pioneer Village last week. They learned about how many immigrants lived in Ozaukee County in the late 1800s and had the experience of being a "pioneer student." They also learned about what it was like to be a child in general at this time - this included completing many chores and living on the land. What a neat field trip!
The TALENT SHOW IMPRESSED yesterday! We had singers, a dancer, a guitarist/singer, a joke teller, pianists, a boxer, and a martial artist... what better way to inspire all the little eyes watching than to watch peers โจshineโจ. We loved all the confidence, skill, and bravery these scholars portrayed and we are so so proud! ๐๐๐
We are having a SPLASH of fun today as Principal Gonzalez is getting head to toe SOAKINGS (he is willingly enduring all SIX of his scheduled soaks). As he represents TEAM COURAGE, he is putting so many smiles on the faces of our scholars. Check out a before and after montage, showcasing his bravery. ๐๐ Congrats to our scholars for working so hard to earn this incentive from the fun run ๐
Ms. Kinkade has been keeping the anticipation high in the library with a fun presentation highlighting the number of library books still out. This list went from 600+ to 79 in a matter of just over a week. Way to go scholars!! Many of the books still out are due to important research projects still happening here at the end of the school year. ๐ We expect the number to keep getting smaller and appreciate families taking an extra look around at home! ๐๐๐๐
Smiles all around last Thursday evening as our 3rd graders anticipated their concert performance! They rocked and rolled as they celebrated garage bands everywhere, singing classic hits such as We Got the Beat and Livin' on a Prayer! ๐ค๐ต๐ถ๐ต Way to perform beautifully, scholars!
Our first graders had a blast at the zoo last Thursday! Despite the rainy forecast, they made the best out of their adventures and animal encounters ๐ฆ๐๐ ๐ป Enjoy some pictures from Mrs. Pecunia's and Mrs. Brewer's groups ๐ฅฐ
What a treat! Two of our students who attend MacArthur have an aunt that is an author! ๐๐Mary Hoynacki came to visit AM 4K and Mrs. Doedens' 3rd grade class. She read her book, the Groovy Blube. Thank you for sharing your talents with us, Ms Hoynacki!
Enjoy some long-overdue photos from our FUN RUN! ๐คธ๐คธโโ๏ธ๐คธโโ๏ธ The school met our fundraising goal - a huge thanks to our wonderful PTA (pictured 1st are Mrs. Dombroe and Mrs. Fleury - two of the amazing volunteers who made the event happen) and YOU! THANK YOU to our community for raising so much money for the school. Thank you to the volunteers who helped during the event - it ended up being a perfect (and warm!) day. โ๏ธ The kids had a blast, and the best part is that our scholars will directly benefit from the funds raised. ๐๐๐ Scroll to the end to see Mr. Polzar and Mr. Gonzalez racing down the big slide - one of them won and the other looked to be having more fun! ๐
One of our kindergartners, Lincoln, won the raffle from MacCarnival for "Ride Home in a Fire Truck"! ๐๐๐ He cashed in his prize last Friday, and invited three friends to come along for the ride! The kiddos got picked up at school and had an audience as they checked out the equipment compartments and hopped on! Siren and all, they departed the school grounds while the onlookers cheered. What a neat experience indeed! ๐ Thank you Germantown Fire Department and MacArthur Elementary School PTA for making such a memorable and fun experience happen!
Our 2nd grade scholars had a great time (and had great weather!) at Riveredge Nature Center last week! They learned about the life cycles of some bugs, frogs, and birds. A scavenger hunt for flowers, mushrooms, birds and bugs was wonderful fun. Lots of education and new vocabulary was taught, including learning about biotic and abiotic materials. They even got to catch organisms in the pond - damsel flies and water scorpions were amongst the finds!
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธHappy Teacher Appreciation Day (and Week!) to all of our wonderful teachers. โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ You are so appreciated and loved. What you do on a daily basis to make a difference in the lives of our scholars is nothing short of AMAZING. Thanks for being the educators our scholars need in order for them to build a firm foundation for a lifelong love of learning. โค๏ธ๐๐๐ Pictured are just some of our dedicated staff members doing what they do best!
๐ธ๐ธ๐ธโLet no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.โ โMother Teresa. ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ What a perfect quote for two special nurses in our world at MacArthur! Thank you for always being the amazing helpers you are, Mrs. Chausow and Ms. Cahlamer - you truly do leave our students and staff feeling better, happier, and stronger when exiting your care. Thanks for ALL you do!
Mrs. Hollander's class has been working hard all year on learning all of the lowercase and uppercase letters in cursive. Last week they took their cursive test and earned a cursive license ๐๐๐ They were so excited! ๐
That's not what the 5th grade hook area typically looks like! Today was BRING EVERYTHING BUT A โ BACKPACK โDAY in our oldest scholars' classrooms... and we love the innovative ideas of how to get their necessities to school ๐ ๐

Mrs. Imig's 4th graders practiced their math problem solving skills in small groups... they found vertical boards around the classroom and we just love the window creativity!
Mrs. Whiting's 5th grade students looking happy as they enjoyed a HAT DAY reward for reaching Fun Run goals! ๐ฉ๐งข๐
As part of the plant unit in science, Mrs. Collins' 2nd graders grew lettuce and onions in their classroom. They got to have delicious looking salads along with their lunch last week! How fun and yummy! ๐ ๐ฑ๐๐ฑ
