For our monarch lovers....Journey North wants your sightings!
TODAY IS THE DAY!
The Monarch Blitz is here, so get outside this weekend and look for milkweed and monarchs, including eggs and caterpillars. Once you've made an observation, report it to Journey North with as much information as you can.
Last year, Journey North and its partners gathered nearly 4,000 reports from almost 2,000 participants. This year, with your help, we can gather even more data that will help guide monarch conservation.
To report your sightings, visit https://journeynorth.org/sightings

See it. Squish It. Report It.
We don’t often recommend squishing bugs, but today is an exception. The spotted lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula) is an invasive species in Michigan that has a penchant for harming fruit crops and trees. They spread by laying their eggs on tree bark or outdoor gear such as lawnmowers, bikes, or cars. These eggs hitch-hike as they are transported long distances, often unbeknownst to the transporter. If you see a spotted lanternfly or their eggs in Michigan, take a picture of it, squish it, and report it at www.Michigan.gov/SpottedLanternfly. Your help can make a difference in stopping this invasive species from spreading!

It's Pollinator Week!
There are so many reasons to care about pollinators. These important species keep nature in balance and make food production possible. Unfortunately, many of them are in trouble due to habitat loss, pesticide use and other continued threats.
