🤩Meet Our Dance Faculty, Ms. Sydney!🤩
I have grown up in Grand Forks and danced with North Dakota Ballet co. for almost my entire life. During my time dancing at NDBC I have been trained in ballet, modern, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theatre.
It has been the most amazing experience to grow up in the studio and now be a teacher! This year will be my third teaching at the studio and I am constantly impressed by the passion and joy I see from my students as they learn new skills and deepen their understanding of dance.

🤩Meet our Dance Faculty🤩
Mya recently graduated from the University of North Dakota, studying
psychology and communications. She was born and raised in Los
Angeles. Mya began ballet at 6 years old with Enton Hoxha of the
Bolshoi Ballet and has been very lucky to have studied with Patrick
Frantz (Paris Opera Ballet), Jonathan Sharp and Kim Maselli (ABT),
Romy Karz (New York City Ballet) Jean Lubin (Royal Winnipeg Ballet)
and many others. Summer intensives include the Pacific Northwest
Ballet and the Boston Ballet. Fun Facts: Each December, Mya
performed in the Nutcracker with Tiler Peck (New York City Ballet).
Mya’s mom is from Grand Forks and was also a professional dancer.
Mya and her mom filmed a Johnson & Johnson baby commercial
when she was just 8 months old! She looks forward to sharing her
passion for dance with her new students.

My name is Jennifer Janke and I have been dancing for 10+ years! I attend UND and study business. My passion for dance is something I highly value and I’m excited to share my experience with the wonderful people at NDBC!

🤩Meet Our Dance Faculty- Ms. Sydney!🤩
Sydney Rygg has been dancing at NDBC since the age of three, and has been teaching at the studio for two years.
During her time here she has danced styles of ballet, pointe, modern, and tap. She has been involved with the Youth Ballet Program since it’s start, nine years ago, with some of her most memorable roles being Tinkerbell in Peter Pan and Aurora in Sleeping Beauty.
Sydney is a junior at the University of North Dakota, and is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and Substance Use and Addictions. This year Sydney is excited to take on more classes and she can not wait to share her love of dance with all of her students.

Please join us in welcoming Mackenzie Teepen as our new Finance Director to our NDBC Family!
Mackenzie is thrilled to be joining the team at the North Dakota Ballet Company. Having spent nearly 15 years in the non profit field, she is excited to be able to make an impact in the arts once again. Mackenzie previously served as the Director of Operations at the Empire Arts Center until 2019 and has collaborated with a number of Grand Forks non profits over the years including the Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra and the Grand Forks Chorales. Mackenzie has spent the last five years working for the Anderson Language and Technology Center at the University of Colorado and presently serves as the Manager of Finance and Business Operations. The North Dakota Ballet Company is an organization with a profound legacy and she is honored to be joining such a strong, passionate team.
